I don't know if this has been raised before apologies if it has but I've heard a rumour that the club are planning to introduce additional charges on club sites for electricity, I must stress that its only a rumour but I wondered if anyone else had heard similar and if so could the club please either confirm or deny.

Our friends paid less for two nights in a Glamping Pod (one of those with everything in, including ensuite) than we did for two nights on a near empty site in November. If there’s logic in how the Club applies it’s pricing policy, it’s not registering with us yet🤷‍♀️

Out of interest do you have to be a club member to hire the pods?

No, but you get a discount if you are.

As PD says Bakers. We spent an evening with friends in one in November, they cannot tour anymore, but find a Glamping pod perfect for their needs. So we can still meet up. They are still Members. We would book a pod rather than take MH next time we go, better for our dog. They are small, but no smaller than a very large caravan. Bed folds up in daytime. Only extras we would take is a couple of decent pillows (those provided get flattened), and a plug in heater (oops, but there you go🤣) You get a BBQ and a microwave, and a kettle, so easy enough to do a quick meal.

You don’t have to be a member to use C&CC offerings either and their lodges are quite luxurious.

Sorry, off topic.

The Club is obviously not entirely satisfied with the trial because they have not expanded it to Ashridge Farm as originally stated and they also mention in the January magazine that they intend to enhance the trial at Wyatts Covert from the summer of 2024 before any further decission is taken. Nothing is going to be decided even after a years trial,  in spite of them realising there is a 30 percent saving in consumption to be made. Across the network that would equate to a £1.8 million saving. Difficult to understand their thinking.

Visited Ashridge Farm recently and I noted all the bollards had been equipped with electricity meters but these are not yet in operation. I noted that the mobile phone signal here was very hit and miss on Vodaphone and O2. Pure speculation, but with such a poor mobile signal was this the reason for the delay in introduction although the upgraded site WiFi was very good? Don't know when the WiFi was upgraded, perhaps fairly recently, if so it should allow the meters to now be used???

I hope the Club owns this site because there has been and there still seems to be a high demand for housing land around the site.
