Early arrivals - action at last?

I’ve said several times when we’ve discussed the issue of early arrivals that, in my opinion, the only effective way to deal with recalcitrant 'offenders' is to apply membership sanctions.

I’ve been reading elsewhere of a CAMC member who, it’s reported, has had his club membership suspended by the Site Manager due to arriving early at Hillhead and refusing to leave despite being requested to do so by that Site Manager.

In this case it seems to have been the member's own lack of planning and forethought which resulted in his early arrival so it’s not a case of there being any extenuating circumstances.

Obviously only one side of the story is given and we need to keep open minds but, if this is factual, it would appear that the club is using its teeth in an effort to enforce the no arrivals before 1300 rule. Perhaps this is what is needed to get the message across.

I can imagine the lesson that got learned by that customer...it won't involve visiting CAMC sites again...👎

Not earlier than invited anyway! 😂👍

I sort of find myself wondering what sort of grief he got from OH when they had to find another site at short notice……. 🤔😬 🤭

Looking on the bright side, maybe it was cheaper😁

It'd be nice to get some kind of comment from Grinstead Towers.

A lot of people out there think rules are good as long as they don't apply to me. Working with the public I feel for the wardens, since lockdown having a front of house customer service role ( being polite ) is challenging.

Southport is a site that has a quiet public cul-de-sac outside .... playing devil's advocate. Will a warden try to move on an early MH/caravan?

He can’t it’s a public highway. Nothing to do with the club. Plus you won’t even be causing an obstruction.

I don't think all wardens suddenly decided to implement the turn away just by themselves, after all it never used to happen.

I appear to recall from an earlier thread and post that wardens were told by the club to go with this, so really what would happened if someone refused will also have been considered as well I would have thought. Hence what can they say, they'll support their staff.

Wardens do have the right to ask anyone to leave if site rules are broken at any time and here they clearly were. Everyone agrees to this when booking.

That was my point .... but as we know, you give some people a hat & it goes to their head. 🙄

On a Sunday?

Why not! The club operates  24/7 sites so it's not that unreasonable to expect that the powers that be do the same. Sunday is part of my working week & plenty of others work Sunday too.

Write to Rowena, ED. You know posting on here is unlikely to bring an official response so try the grown up option.
