I read elsewhere that C&CC are closing some sites and cancelling people’s bookings due to staff shortages. Sure enough, it's true and they've updated their website today. I hope nobody here is affected.

Out of interest JV how many nights does £2500 equate to?

Posted on 17/10/2021 15:33

I would guess circa 100, if club sites ?

I have since arriving in North Norfolk had a look at what we have done so far this year including here, which is 167 site nights @ £4,597.80 with Five more club sites plus a commercial

We are now seriously considering cancelling some, if not all the rest of the club bookings not the commercial as there is no refund of fees,

Although we have again this year enjoyed our time in the c/van , apart from losing Rosa , we are both feeling tired

As I now need to do the majority of setting up and breaking camp plus all the driving ,my age is catching up,, so next year, ,is really going to need a great deal of thought

And 2023 even more so

By comparison we will have done 139 nights when we next move on, at a cost of £2035, so an average of £14:64 pn.

Thanks for that, so that averages £27.50 but I assume its spread across all the charging periods.

I know what you mean about doing everything yourself, it really is a team effort if its not to become too hard.  Maybe your idea of a seasonal pitch would be easier especially if it was serviced.

Don’t forget that this year will have had quite a bit of VAT reduction as well on Club fees. It made quite a difference to our stays on Club Sites.

You are both right about sharing to chores, does make life a lot easier👍

I suppose if you decided to go to a static or a seasonal pitch you might actually save money? We have never spent that number of nights away in any one year, the most we have ever done is 121 and that probably included two trips to Europe in that year. It looks like a winter of careful thinking?

John...it's only 188 days since the release of lockdown on April 12th...

if you've done 167 of those days, no wonder you're tired....

we've been away a fair bit since April and have done just over 12weeks, about 90 days....which is about a 50/50 split....

If you've done nearly twice that....perhaps continually touring is a little too much?

OH is far safer in the caravan(she says)as she has less space and more places that are close to hold on to, the physio has also given her an exercise programme that has been modified for caravan use,,

As said to David we may have to curtail  some of our next bookings, except the commercial site, ,  which will then throw up a problem as it is our meet up with others that was cancelled last year and fits in with the club bookings we have ,which also have meetups with some of our Norfolk. friends and family,

The bookings we still have from here take us to 19th Nov when we get home

Great Yarmouth   Norfolk Broads  Sandringham,  Hunstanton and then Back here before home bound

I've even managed to undercut Nellie. My average for this year is £13.12 per night. If I exclude the five "freebie nights" I did, my average is about the same as Nellie's. At the same number of pitch nights as JVB, that equates to a saving of around £2400. This year I've used 7 C&CC, 2 commercials and the rest have been CL's. That helps pay for the servicing,MOT, and, at some future date, a new set of boots for the van.
