I read elsewhere that C&CC are closing some sites and cancelling people’s bookings due to staff shortages. Sure enough, it's true and they've updated their website today. I hope nobody here is affected.

I have just checked our spend to the caravan club on sites alone not including this year, ,since 2009 when we started a new log the pitch fees have amounted to £34,239

,2021 will be about another £2500

That does not include LV insurance or membership to 2019

We have enjoyed nearly. every trip out in our various LVs

That is because the club no longer does caravan insurance it can only sell its 'cover' to members therefore. Is this the case for motorhomes? I doubt it.

About Caravan Cover
Caravan Cover is provided by The Caravan Club Limited. We collect contributions from
members and use the contributions for the provision of services and other benefits to
members.
We offer cover on a discretionary basis which means that your Executive Committee
has sole and absolute discretion on deciding claims and may accept or reject claims in
its discretion. It also means that the Executive Committee may, in its discretion, agree
a claim which falls outside the terms of the Caravan Cover, or which may even be
expressly excluded, if the circumstances warrant it. The discretionary cover we provide
is not a contract of insurance, and The Caravan Club Limited is not regulated as an
insurance company.

I understand about the caravan “cover”, but check out the first paragraph of Motorhome Insurance on link. Again this cover only available to Members. You can of course apply direct to Devitts, although whether you would get the same rates and cover is debatable. They do of course do lots of other insurance, campervan, house, motorcycle, possibly pet.

We don’t use CC for insurance, had a bad experience first time we tried to insure MH, so we look elsewhere now first.

In the same way as it's possible for you and SB to be very rude.

We did as well, they wanted circa £1200.šŸ˜‚ Unsurprisingly we went elsewhere.

It’s always possible, but generally reserved for special occasions - nothing rude or personal in any of my posts on this thread.

I am surprised at the need to be a Club member for regulated insurances

They speak for themselves, SB. However, this is off topic.

It’s possibly a special package ET. One that only paying £54 can get you. In the scale of things, most folks will make other use of their Membership, so that extra £54 can get you a lot more. The canny will use the Membership to access some of the special offers such as shop discounts, money back off a new Volvo, etc......
