Caravan sites opening and safety measures feedback

It would be great to have feedback on the caravan sites and how the safety measures are working. We will be watching for the next two weeks to see how safe the sites are before we decide to start touring again.  Maybe a lot of people will put reviews on individual caravan sites.

Moderator Edit:

This thread is specifically and solely for members currently visiting sites to offer useful feedback.

Please keep your posts on the topic of "caravan sites opening and safety measures on sites" only.

Thank you.

Could someone who's been on a site tell us about the process to select a pitch- are they allocated, do you select from one's available with a site map on the phone or in reception?

We have had good posts on facilities and payment by phone- thank you most helpful

For most club sites that was just the first day of re-opening. No allocation of pitches from second day onwards (with maybe one or two exceptions) but club sites are apparently mainly quite full now and so pitch choice will be quite limited.

Evening

So, we're doing one in one out at reception to take payment which takes a lot longer than times gone by. After that you go and choose your pitch from that days availability, as you used to, then report back to reception with pitch number. It's going ok so far, just need a little patience.

We've learnt a lot the last two weeks and we're still trying different things to make things go as smooth as possible.

  • My concern regarding the toilet blocks is that only 3 toilets are available for use so  everyone is using the same cubicles without cleaning in between use. Why not have all cubicles open.  if masks are sufficient surely a wooden partition is ! Still the limit number of persons able to access at any one time but this avoids continued use of same 3 toilets( as hubby describes it hot seating šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚)

Do you not take your own anti bac wipes in with you? The majority of cubicles open at the base!

I suppose with all the extra cleaning which is a must, cleaning 3 cubicles at a time instead of every single cubicle is more practical to keep the block available as quickly as possible.  And as previous poster mentions, perhaps each user could help themselves and others, by taking in their own anti bac cleaning materials.  Personally, I’m quite happy and indeed want to, take in my own sprays to cover the handles etc where other people touch for my own peace of mind.  Every little helps!

Morning,

The closing of part of the facilities has nothing to do with "keeping the block available as quickly as possible". Govt. advice is to try and maintain 2 meters distance inside the block irrespective of wooden partitions Remember, those partition walls don't go floor to ceiling.

Without these measures in place we wouldn't have any facilities at all.. We're trying our best to maintain a safe environment for everyone, but I'll make no apology if that doesn't suit.
