CAMC pitch markers

It is reported in another forum (Autosleepers) that all Club sites will soon have two pitch markers for each pitch - and you pitch between the two.

I havent seen it anywhere on Club info or this forum.

Anyone know any more?  I know people like to get really exercised about "pitching to the peg"!

 Evening

I'll be staying with the one pitch marker. I'm always on site to see if everyone's happy with their chosen pitch and to assist if needed because I have the time on this site.

I guess before the day's out we'll again get the usual boring education of how it's so much better over there undecided

I spend a lot of time over there too but I don't feel the need to compare what is in my opinion incomparable.

I fully understand your logic, JK, but I wonder if not standardising pitching arrangements across the network might add to some folks' confusion 🤷🏻‍♂️

So if that tiny Eriba can fit on pitch sideways, or that trailer tent which opens up differently, or the teardrop caravan maintaining all the 3&6m rules that’s okay then? Afterall, if they meet the criteria? Nothing to do with over there, more to do with how reasonable we are!

I once saw a uk motorhomer fill up their fresh water using the waste hose at the motor home service point having watched a previous user flushing out his chem. toilet cassette there. Think the club have since been removed these hoses for those cross contamination reasons.

The two peg arrangement isn't yet standardised TW, but saying that, to avoid any confusion I prefer the old school way of actually talking to peoplesurprised

Does that mean that it's up to the warden(s) to adopt this practice?

And yes a full +1 about comparisons.

Slightly off topic but a wee comment for amusement.

Yesterday on a site in a Algarve we watch the arrival of a Brit van.  They found their pitch as they are clearly numbered.  Then the peg hunt began.  It seemed to go on forever whilst they blocked access to other pitches.  Eventually, they spotted our UK plate and came over.  At this point I should point out that their van was adorned with CC Ltd stickers.  The conversation went something like this.

Me: hello, can I help.

Madam: We can't find the peg.

Me: do you mean the CAMC type pegs.

Him: Yes.

Me: there isn't one.

Madam: how do we need to park?

Me: it's your pitch choose which ever way you want.

Him: there must be some rules.

Me: just keep everything within the pitch boundry.

Madam to Him: you had better go and ask at reception.

......

The ensuing pitch manoeuvres were an absolute delight.  They kept us and our German and Swiss neighbours well entertained for for at least another hour 😃. CC Ltd has a lot to answer for 😂.
