It is reported in another forum (Autosleepers) that all Club sites will soon have two pitch markers for each pitch - and you pitch between the two.

I havent seen it anywhere on Club info or this forum.

Anyone know any more?  I know people like to get really exercised about "pitching to the peg"!

Blimey David, you look very young!

In 1979 we were still using my Mum & Dads handed down Lamont frame tent with the 'luxury' of a caravan not arriving till 1991.

When you see things like this it reminds you how precious photos are.

Yes she is coming up for 49  nowsmile

The van dated from around 1972 I believe, we had our holidays around the UK first year, all we could afford after buying the van and changing the car but the following year we began  adventures further afield

Can’t match that but here’s a 1996 pic of our first ever new van and oldest Grandchild.

She, and all our 8 grandchildren, loved the van and it’s quite emotional when they talk about their memories and how they loved camping.

She will be 30 in May, but I don’t feel old, honest!!

The first caravan in my case was very second hand in 1974. A friend and I got together to split the purchase cost of £30. It was so small that once the seats were made into a double bed, there was only enough floor space for one person to stand up!  It seemed smaller than the Series 1 Land Rover that I used to tow it.

Water pumps? What luxury!

There wasnโ€™t even a gas bottle box on mine. 1949, 10โ€™ long and as basic as could be.

Was it pulled by a Horse?๐Ÿค”

It wasn’t far removed from that๐Ÿคฃ. People were known to move pitches when we rocked up. I can’t think why๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
