Looks like we need to book before 5 December to avoid price increases.

Is there a notification on the main web site about the "book soon" advert, I haven't seen it? I haven't received any info, I've opted out of the club e mails but does that mean the general membership hasn't been informed?

Don't know about the website, but we opted out of emails but got the email. I was surprised as we didn't usually get email from CAMC. It prompted me to check, doubt the x inserted 😂 and then decided yes we had opted out! Another example of IT 😯

Edit certainly not on the front page. But what is interesting is join and get a free night PLUS as you scroll down cost 51, (updated Samsung and cant find the pound sign, now symbols like typewriter keyboard so have to use shift!) DD single fee 51 plus a joining fee of 10 😲

Edit edit tried a mock booking but have to admit I gave up, selected start date, asked to select departure date NOTHING HAPPENED no new progress screen 😤😤😤

Maybe it went out to those that had a booking after 5th December in the same way that confirmation e-mails are sent? Or would that be too clever?

Definitely too clever.

I’m in the same category as B2 with my opt outs and have made no bookings.

No bookings in the pipeline. So that isn't the case for us or Tinwheeler it appears. Who knows? Will we ever know???

My late wife had said "I am not working to spend holidays in muddy fields and it was only when we  happened upon a beach-side site in Spain and saw another side to caravanning she relented. . We had done some in the family caravan but already declined the offer of taking it free off my father when my mother died.

Our first year was a financial strain  even with the very old van be bought equipping it and changing  the car meant not a lot left for travel but the following year we took our first trip to the continent and did the same every year afterwards..

I have since had 5 new vans in nearly 40 years and am about to get probably the last one.

I am very happy to be touring with a £25k van behind a £40k car but cant be bothered to set about changing either of them very often, its too much like hard work adapting things to suit us.

Caravan holidays are only cheaper if one takes lots of them or long trips .

Caravan holidays meant that from the start of the 80s my wife , 2 children and myself could afford 80 nights away in the caravan each year. We could not have afforded that if we had used hotels. On top of the hotels is the cost of getting meals out of course.

Most of the Club sites that we used were non facility or CLs and, of course, we had no EHU in our 1973 caravan.

yes agree +1

It is what you want from a 'holiday', some seem happy with one week/two weeks slot whereas like you I preferred something all year round.

As i posted elsewhere in our storage compound (500+ units) very few are used very often if at all as there are numerous "green" LVs motor and  towed in there there must be now over 100 motor caravans that are now stored round the perimeter fence and they seem to move less often than towed c/vans ,so it must be quite an expensive "status symble " as holidays gosurprised
