Hi David, Having had to cancel this years trip I will be rather keen to see what is on offer-especially after discovering that the Plymouth sailings may be altered.

After having to cancel my trip in May I wondered if I would be able to go later but couldn't understand why I could not get a price for a Tuesday night crossing, I was looking June, but noticed it was available later in the year.

I then saw on the BF website that some Tuesday night crossings were cancelled, but could find nothing online to say why, however, I had to drop our Grandson off as he was going on  trip to Spain on the Pont Aven, so spoke to the BF staff and they told me that the Tuesday crossing would only be in peak holiday season Easter and summer school holidays and that Pont Aven would spend the night in Plymouth when there were no sailings.

They also said that they had been told that the sailing schedule for 2024 would possibly show changes-I did ask what the reason was, but they couldnt/wouldnt say.

I did notice that Friday crossings on the Pont are now cheaper than a Tuesday night, which was not the case last year, and did consider a late September trip, but gave up on that due to other commitments, so 2024 cant come soon enough!

I had an email saying that 2024 sailings would soon be on sale not sure what we are doing next year as this year's booking in September will be the last to UK with a caravan.

Slight variation on this discussion but I've been looking at the possibilities of booking for this September. Rather shocked to see prices start at £2000 for car and caravan. Is that what others have been paying this year or is this because it would be a relatively late booking?

Just checked that the last time we used this crossing was 2014 when it was around £1000, so maybe the current price should not come as a surprise.

We travelled to Bilbao mid June, and we’re on our way home now. Car + Swift 480 caravan, Club plus, 2 berth cabins with C lounge passes included, both crossings.

We booked July last year, so meals were included, and very good they were, too.

Total pice was £1383.
So, yes, looks like the prices have increased, as they have with just about everything else.

We plan to book for next year though, nevertheless, as soon as the crossings go on sale. A style or holiday that we both absolutely love.

🙂

Some of you are rich.  There are better bargains elsewhere for everyone else.

Two adults with a motorhome for £181 return Newhaven -Dieppe in September. And with 20% off for anyone over 60 that brings it down to £145 return.

It might be even cheaper in the winter.

It’s not really better if you want to end up in Bilbao, or as in our case St Malo.🤔

We are going to spend the whole of September on a site in Devon, indoor pool, sauna, jaccuzzi, £995, maybe £200 for diesel, job done.

Personally i think BF to Santander/Bilbao is very expensive for  couple of years we have done Portsmouth Caen and made the journey thru France part of the holiday, last October we had to change the sailings to Portsmouth Santander as there were strikes in France and no diesel. We only live 20 minutes from Portsmouth port so more convenient for us to use BF
