I don't generally use CLs. I did use one about 3.5 years ago.5 EHU pitches with two on hardstanding and a small toilet washroom for single occupancy. £9 a night. To be honest given the fact that the site was well maintained, hedges cut, toilet cleaned, grass well cut and good ground etc I felt that the the charge was too low. I would be happy to pay around that £15 figure. It is not all profit and there is work to do in maintenance. I think that to expect a lot less is unrealistic.

Cl's are not what they were when I first joined the club. Then they were basic and £3 to £5 a night. Things have changed and so have caravans. So with the electrics we all come to rely on now the Cl owner has had to move with the times and install extras at more cost. No doubt the price per night now reflects this.
There are still Cl's with basic facilities if you wish to keep the cost down. However there are also some Cl's that cost more than a commercial site and personally I steer clear of these. Mainly I look for sites with EHU at between £12 - £15 per night. There are still some old fashioned owners who are quite happy to charge less than this but you will have to seek them out.

Posted on 21/03/2017 07:55 by Bakers2Prices vary do check out several. I expect on this day and age it costs a bit to keep the place tidy, grass cutting, water supply etc etc. We're paying less than that this week 😃

They vary greatly in price, and some areas of the country are more expensive than others. My OH found a couple of gems last year, £5 per night. Basic, but had all he required, as our MH is comfortable. Both farms, extra income rather than making a living out of site. £10 a night with electric is a very good Summer price now for a basic CL.

I've noticed that, as a general rule, prices on those CLs that we have stayed on or will this year that are based in the South of England tend to be averaging the £15 pn mentioned in OP, whereas those elsewhere are about £12pn. This for a CL with EHU, usually without sanitary facs.
Where are you looking at CLs, JB?

We are on our 7th site this trip so far, 6 CL's and 1 non-facility commercial site. The most we've paid is £15 ( & that was on a CL), the majority have been £13 and lowest £12. All have been H/S, EHU and a couple with a toilet, so the prices are similar to what we paid last year overall. All one has to to is a little bit of research and if you feel that the price is too high there are others to choose from.
