Increase size of CLs?

Why Are CLs only allowed 5 vans, is it the government, local councils? If so perhaps the Club could lobby for an increase.

Isn't it time CLs were given permission to have more than 5 vans, many do anyway unofficially!

Perhaps it could be allowed to double to 10 vans, but only if they had a certain acreage?

I wouldn't like to see them over stuffed with vans but it would help both caraanners have more choice and scope and perhaps make it more financialily viable for owners.

My humble apologies EV if I gave the impression I meant you.

I am sorry, was a general comment regarding CLs, not personally intended at all.Happy

ttda, no need to apologise at all, I had thrown a bit of maths into the equation and wondered if you were referring to me? EV

True, some will be dated are but the date is usually on the view somewhere and the majority wll be olny a few years old.

There are some great web sites to use these days.

Fysherman, Our Google picture is well over 6 years ago, and is nothing like it is today.  I expect like other CL's we keep on improving such as a new road to our property two weeks ago, and now creating a dog walk in the field next door, and very few nights without anybody in nowadays.

Point well made and taken but at least they put the date on so a prospective customer can make a judgement and not just rely upon one souce of reference.

From what I see, the age of the photo's varies and a lot "down South" are more up to date.

Nellie,  I did not think things like this would be put on our web page as to me they are only minor things. It just worries me if folk look at the Google photo, it just looks like a wild field and could put some folk off booking. Like to think our CL site can always be improved.

David, we and other members do welcome any additional information that you can give re your site. We with dogs do like an enclosed or adjacent dog walk, and  notice of it might just encourage dog owners, who have not yet visited you, to use our site in the future.

I believe Nicola W said the same thing about the google photo of Skybarn. It was taken well before it became the site it is now.

Last time I looked it was like yours David, looked like a wild field with a bit of fencing (the photo that is, not your site)

Just my two'penneth .....

Though we have used more Club sites than CL's, we like the 5 unit limit & wouldn't wish to change it. Ineed, looking through the CL listings recently we found one which was limited to 4

5 vans is fine but with the burgeoning number of caravanners, I can see the argument that the OP is putting forward. Just one more space on small CLs and two or three on larger ones would ease folks booking worries. Yes, by acreage would be a useful yardstick  Some of course couldn't take more than 5 vans but many could.
