ive just been reading the link sent from the club re CL of the year. From £17 or even £19 a night?

When most vans have full facilities why do we have so many of this type of site? What about the quiet, peaceful site with a tap, bins and toilet disposal.

but correct me if I am wrong, don’t you encourage an honesty system for shower usage? I am not sure if other aspects are via the honesty system, for example the washing machine, maybe other aspects of the information Hut? No criticism intended by the way, I think it gives visitors a great deal of choice in terms of some of the facilities you offer, but rather than upping the pitch price, perhaps folks are not being as honest as you would like? I

sorry let me explain, the question was do we offer a price for non ehu, we were asked once and agreed to £10 per night for a self sufficient motorhome, the lovely couple arrived in a very small motor home and had been travelling for 6 weeks, they did not use the ehu but moved into the information hut putting on the heater, watching tv, using the fridge for some food items and catching up on 6 weeks of emails etc on the internet, this is exactly what the info hut is for, the smaller motor home but we would expect them to pay £15 for it, I was not including the washing machine etc that we have an honesty jar for.  Hence my comment that we cant police what people use, we have never been asked for a pitch with non electric since and would in our circumstances say no.

My sister will be very pleased to see you all!!!

I see your point, Gibbo. They saved by not paying for EHU but then took undue advantage of the other facilities to compensate for not having lekky.

Don't blame you for saying no in future.

Btw, we would have stayed at yours but you were full so we went to your sister's site.

are you for real

1.  shower...tick in the box,  never used shower in  our caravan

2.  toilet...tick in the box. use toilet in caravan mainly overnight for a pee

3,  information shed...tick in the box, helps for forward planning

4. would i pay extra for these ...tick in the box, even if near or at club price , most CL's that i have used are beautifully situated, and after a week away with the Gkids, the tranquility you so often find and dont get always on a club site is just bliss.

5, wage ouf of a CL...maybe not but surely you would expect some profit, why else would you do it undecided

Are YOU for real, Rufs?

We caravan all year round and have a caravan because of the facilities that it has so....

1, use the caravan shower every day we're away,

2, the toilet when we need to use it for whatever

3, use own wifi and maps for local information for forward planning even before we leave home

5, agree with your final point.

We have been taking meter readings every week on our CL, we have one meter which feeds our Shepherds Hut with hot tub and the shower block for the CL this has averaged about £40 per week since the beginning of Jan, the other meter feeds the CL and information hut, we have a third meter for the house, the CL and Info hut had averaged £120 per week, since we started the experiment we have had 195 nights booked and have spent 990 on electricity, an average of £5.07, February was exceptionally mild this year as during Jan the average was £7 per night.  I appreciate that over the year the average will lower but I hope this gives you an insight into how much electric is used and why CL prices are having to rise.
