CL recommendations for Devon/ Cornwall please

Yet another vote for Higher Bochym Farm on the Lizard, but you'll be lucky if you can get in next July as it gets booked up very quickly. I know, because I book most of the summer school holiday there! It's magic!

Another great place I tried this year was Vose Farm CL near Mevagissey £12 per night. Great little site very close to Pentewan but at a fraction of the cost and much more pleasant I would say. The owners are really lovely and keep the site immaculate. Book early though as it's popular. Take the ferry from Meva to Fowey if you stay there, saw porpoise and baby! 

Or if you want coastal then there is  Penmillard Farm on the Rame peninsula. Yes you have never heard of Rame - it's the part of Cornwall the tourists run right past. This really is a basic CL with minimal facilities and access only along the narrow cliff top road which was built to link the forts in Napoleonic times. But it's right by the sea -  and you can walk down the cliff paths to wonderful Whitsand Bay. Cornwall which only the locals know. 

Do'nt tell everyone they'll all want to come! The view's from Cliff Road and Rame Head, the footpath from Rame down to Cawsand, Cremyl looking towards Royal William Yard.......think I'll shut up now.

Highhouse Farm, East Portlemouth. If you don't mind driving along narrow lanes. The site is close to the coastal path giving access to superb beaches and the foot ferry to Salcombe.

We have used Crosslands CL, just outside Okehampton on numerous occasions. It is easy access off the A30, up past Okehampton services. Grass pitches, but we have never had issues with mud or poor ground, even after torrential rain. This site gives you the whole of stunning Dartmoor to walk, Exeter with its beautiful cathedral is an easy 20 minutes away, Okehampton is a very nice town with a great castle and lovely shops, but as I said, the whole of Dartmoor is on your doorstep. Castle Drogo, Lydford Gorge, both NT, are close by as well. Little bit of traffic noise, but suprisingly little considering  proximity to A30. Owners are very nice, very helpful.

We have stayed on this site but had to move on after just one night because of the nonstop through the night noise from the A30 which at that point is like a motorway I guess it does depend on the wind direction - we must have been unlucky.

The CL site we moved to was Ashbury Caravan Park - lovely views towards Dartmoor - and peaceful!  

For a very nice site Nr salcombe in Devon I recommend Cholwells Farm Nr Marlborough on the Kingsbridge to Salcombe Rd. Good access and water to every pitch. Nice rolling farmland. Slightly sloped but pitching is easy and free to pitch any which way you want.

First time we visited we quickly realised that all the others had been before, - always a good sign!  As water to each pitch it is a good idea to have the aquarol accessory that allows constant supply.
