...we need you!

We need your help to capture the beauty, exclusivity and tranquillity of your holiday on a Certified Location site. Each CL is unique, whether on a working farm, large country estate, in the heart of the country or handy for a city, each provides inspiration for stunning photography! Capture a moment to inspire other members to enjoy CLs.

Upload your photo here to be in with a chance to win a photography  course from Virgin Experience Days and a £100 Currys  voucher, and two lucky runner ups will receive a £50 Currys Voucher each!

Enter more than once if you wish with different photos but we will need to receive all entries by Friday 14th October 2016. The winner will be invited to accept their award at the CL of the Year prestigious awards ceremony at the House of Commons in November 2016. Photographs submitted will also be used to publicise our CL network.

What you say is correct ABM but I think that what they are doing is fundamentally immoral.  Giving a cheap prize to one winner to get exclusive rights to hundreds if not thousands, of images is just not right.

Perhaps we who are in the know should submit as many naff photographs as we can so that the perpetrators of this scam are overwhelmed with having to sort and categorise them.  Might not even need to be a photograph of a CL !

Copyright is retained by the photographer but what is the point of that if you have granted the promoter an exclusive licence thus preventing you using the image elsewhere.  Change the word to non-exclusive please.

Well,  the  easy  way  around  this  is  to  take  two  steps  to  the  left  or  right  and  take  another  photo  !!  Very  similar,  but  not  the  same Wink   .

Write your comments here...

exactly, as I say its just a flippin picture of a CL it ain't no Rembrandt

Could not agree more DD.

Come on CC, if you are wanting photos for commercial use pay the going rate. Photo competitions with T&C's like this are just a scam.

you lot must have some absolutely amazing photographs of fields if you feel that they hold such worldwide value. I  submitted a picture of a field with a caravan in the background and a rather nice rainbow. This was captured on my phone and not edited in any way, I thought it rather nice BUT I don't think anyone other than the CL owner who I emailed a copy or the CC would be THAT interested. I would be intrigued to see the   potentially world famous pictures that some of you are so keen to protect.

Photo's for commercial use have a price, just google photo libraries. The CC are trying to get a whole heap of photos for virtually nothing.

Some of us do take reasonable photo's and sell them through these photo libraries. We are not all pro photographers, many just make a few quid here and there to supplement other income. Many travel writers for magazines do exactly the same. It's not therefore hard to understand why organisations that use photo's sent into"competitions" for commercial purposes are held in contempt. The occasional snapper might not even have considered this.

By the way spk, I think I know you (Berlingo?) but I cannot send you a pm until the site is upgraded. Best not to give too much away on this forum thoughHappy

ah,well that is well explained and I see your point now. I am not convinced that it effects the common snapper but I accept it could be a matter of principal if nothing else for some.

correct "berlingo " do we know each other from another forum or in real life??

Another forum. You once invited me over but I sold the vehicle and bought something else so didn't come. Don't give my other forum name out if you remember as it would identify me very easily.

Good to hear from you, it's only a matter of time before we are on the same campsite at the same time.Happy

. . . and having got all these photographs and the rights to them as well, there is nothing to stop the CC selling on the pictures to others.   If an organisation was wanting some photos of caravan(s) who better to approach than The Caravan Club !
