A CL In the making

I've just seen this on Facebook. Someone is making a cl from scratch and has listed the cost so far. It looks a major civil engineering job but makes interesting reading.

They are the usual ones Harry, but a few we are familiar with have some special events rates as well, and occasionally want a minimum of two nights over such a period. It’s never bothered us, if we want to go to the event, we happily pay up. If we don’t, we go elsewhere. It’s never much more, might be a pound or two.

TDA

Spot on. The prices are a guide only and like club sites have different price bands although on cl's I have only every come across two, Winter and Summer

I was just pointing out in case people thought that £15 was the price. I usually find when CL’s have different price bands winter is the more expensive due to increased electric use.

Has anyone actually seen or been in this so called CL yet?

The cl opened on 3rd July just two weeks ago so hardly time for reviews to filter through yet. Although there are some favourable comments on Google. Seems the glamping side is full for the next month

Cant get my head round the costings and the viability of a 5 van CL that all.

You need to look at this set up Fisherman, it’s a whole lot more than just 5 pitches. Lots of other options and activities going on that possibly make having 5 reasonably priced pitches viable, given that the other activities are also bringing in income. I think we are going to see a lot more CLs offering more than just 5 pitches in the future. In fact, I can think of at least half a dozen quickly who have gone down this route.

I agree the days of the 5 pitch limit is over.

I don't think that is what tda is saying. It's not exceeding the limit of 5 but adding extras to the site such as pods or other forms of alternative accommodation that some CLs would be offering in the future. You do have a bee in your bonnet about the number of units allowed on CLs especially for someone that is not a club member and therefore not likely to be visiting them.
