8 outfits on CL site

Feeling rather annoyed and let down by the CL we are currently on.

We have had this booked since the begining of the year, we came here last year and loved it so wanted to return again.

When we arrived we were the 6th unit, one caravan is not occupied at the moment and looks as if its been here awhile.

Since our arrival 2 more units have arrived both MHs.

What to do?

Do we speak to the owner, do we report it. What is the right thing to do.

No one is compromised on space as there is plenty of room, its all tiered and we all have a tier to ourselves except the chap behind us.

Each tier has a gravel area that is surrounded by grass, its up to you how you pitch.

The chap behind in a small camper chose to go on the grass at the far end of his tier leaving the gravel area free. The latest unit MH is now pitched on that gravel area.

Should I take photos as proof, might feel awkward doing that though.

Don't really want to fall out with the owner as he's a great chap but surely this isn't right.

The posts just shows how archaic the regulations are.  The club would e better off trying to look at how these regulations can be brought up to present day standard. With the huge demand, the Government trying to refloat the economy, surely there is no better time. What is the club scared of. More leaving the expensive, regimented main sites for the CL's. Makes you wonder.

Maddie

I had a situation on my CL last year, If view of your official reply I wonder what you would have advised me to do. Visitor due to leave next day with one arriving  in the afternoon , Visitor is packing up ready to leave in the morning, visitor feels unwell , wife takes him to doctors, and then to an A&E dept, he spends 3 days in hospital.  I had 2 nights with 6 on site, I was happy with that, also took wife to visit husband , should I have insisted she leave , as per the rules, or should I offer to help out in what was a very distressing time for his partner. As an aside all the others on site agreed with my action, and also helped her whilst she was there by herself.

No rule should ever be set in stone because there will always be a situation that arises where it’s worse to slavishly follow that rule. Good on you for doing the caring/intelligent thing👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻

For me it depends on mitigating situation. At least 435 years ago I arrived at a CC site in late afternoon to find that the pitches were not available due to heavy rain damage. No mobiles then to contact arrivals. It was still raining heavily and the warden contacted a nearby CL who put up 3 outfits on his stable yard.

The Club wins by showing that it will take action and that it is not overseeing a free for all to break regulations. Loss of a CL? Collateral damage

... and if they lose ALL the CLs?

OK, we had to use parchment or animal hide and use a runner or horseman to deliver messages

Yep Over 35 years ago smile

So - flexibility combined with common sense is required and it never hurts to ask nicely!

All praise to Wildemere for his actions.

Surely it would only be a miserly meanie who would complain at excess numbers that only arose on humanitarian grounds?

Yes, the rule book is there but, as the saying goes, "rules were meant to be broken".
