Ukulele players

Whenever I go away with my motorhome, I always pack a ukulele. Needless to say I always play it  reasonably quietly indoors so as not to upset fellow caravaners! But, it would be really nice, if there was the interest, to arrange a weekend meet of members who also love and play this versatile little instrument. Maybe there are a number of peopke who play other instruments and/or sing too, and who who be happy to do a musical weekend? It really is a joyous way to spend a couple of days. Not asking for commitments at the moment but just a hands up as a show of interest, so that I know if it is a “goer” or not. Love to hear from you!!

It would need to be a meeting with like minds in a quiet secluded area, loud Music has been complained about regularly on here. Nothing would dampen your meet more than complaints๐Ÿ™

Could set it up as a rallysmile

I think a self contained rally is the way to go as has been said.  I know musicians who are very conscious of others within earshot and realise that one person’s music can be another’s noise in a shared environment so what could be better than all like minded folk together.

If you are a member of the C&CC they have lots of "interest" groups, have a look at their website and the back of the magazine for meets.

Thank you boys for your input and please accept my apologies if my posts were misunderstood, it was not my intention to upset or hijack the thread or anyone in any way, quite the reverse in fact. (I think I was having a bad night)

I think the idea of a rally could work, especially at Seacroft over a weekend or any other site that has a club/stage. I think all it needs is for someone to arrange/organise it and I think it would get a good response, it could also, if it works, be used as a yardstick for any other theme/interest

A pity see to this thread hijacked by personal insults.

Later you say the club could do more when I had already posted about the club band and singers.

My family like music, with a professional trumpet player (next session at the Dorset Steam fair, main stage....note to ABM) and a part time folk violinist, they give me a frequent insight into a lot of musical enjoyment.

I can only think you wanted to disrupt the thread more than the cheeky humorous replies ever did.

I do hope the OP hasn't been put off, the idea of a Ukulele players group is a fun idea, hope this thread can continue in a friendly manner.

{  Thanks  for  the  information  Brue  kiss  !!

I'll  be  at  Salisbury  Hillside  from  next  Wednesday  until  the  GDSF Campsite  opens  at  08:00  on  the  Sunday    so  I'll  be  having  a  peep  at  the  'Main  Stage'  as  well  as  500  steam  engines  !!

Anybody  in  the  area  round  Blandford  should

a)  be  prepared  for  hold-ups  of  the  slow  traffic  variety ** yell  or

b)  be  advised  to  get  tickets  for  the  show  cool  }

**  I'm  led  to  understand  that  when  the  show  is  up  and  running  it'll  be  about  the  fourth [4th]  largest  'town'  in  Dorset  so  you  have  been  warnedwink

Have noted the stuff around upsetting people who do not like even the dulcit tones of the ukulele, and yes it would be great to find a place where everyone wanted to play or sing or simply just tap their feet! I wouls appreciate advise from any one on here that knows a pkace where we would be welcomed for a weekend, and I would be more than happy to come to Seacroft Cromer as Broadside has helpfully suggested (I’m from Kent by the way). So who could or would be happy to make Seacroft our first meet? I do realise that this would very much depend upon dates and looking far enough ahead to get together. I really would lije to make this happen, because I know tgat it would be so much fun that people would want to do it again. So, names of people showing an interestto start with so that we have rough ideas of how many, this doesn’t commit you, just shiws the interest. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽถ
