Diesel & petrol alternatives? Your thoughts please

Good Afternoon,

Hopefully you have now received your September Club Magazine and read the Ask Your Club article (see attached photo) regarding the future of caravanning post 2040.

Have you already changed your vehicle from diesel to petrol?

Is anyone already towing with a hybrid? Maybe a Tesla Model X?

Has the news affected your plans for your next towcar?

It will also be interesting to see how motorhomes evolve into hybrids and/or electric models, which alternative to diesel would you prefer to buy; Hybrid or electric?

Are you concerned about so few alternatives to diesel at the moment? Would you choose petrol instead if they were more widely available? There is now a VW T6 camper with a petrol engine available.

Has this news made you think about switching to a car and caravan? Equally would caravanners consider trading in their car and caravan to purchase a hybrid or electric motorhome?

From the questions above, we would love to have your feedback.

One thing is for sure, there will be some interesting times ahead.

Glad to note that ,cool

All you need to do then is find those that are it seems at the grass roots coal face of energy companies, ,who it seems do not share your optimism, that "it will  be alright on the night " surprisedwink

Probably foot of the wind turbine rather than the coal face ;-)

Whilst the national grid, and power generation is in very good shape, the DNOs do have a challenge, as do we all. But EVs may well be part of the solution. One of the benefits of EVs (that is in its infancy - but on the cusp of broader acceptance) is the capability for Vehicle to Grid. That is the ability to use energy in your car battery to power your home or feed the grid in peak hours, to be replenished when demand is low. It saves you (the consumer) money, and assists both the local and national infrastructure.

The country still has 8 years before the end of sale of new ICE cars, and in my experience, 8 years is a very long time in technology...

You don’t do the condescending thing CTrees, you are refreshingly honest & open. A lot of posts on this forum uses ‘Frank down the pub’ as a factual source with a strong leaning to BS  as back up unfortunately. Someone posting facts is a shock, someone posting verifiable facts is practically unheard of. Some of us find it refreshing, many find it new & unnerving. Just keep on keeping on👍🏻😊

There is nothing wrong with posts that give a different .take on subjects  and if you like to think "Frank down the Pub"   is as in touch  as you would like,?

JV, you know, the forum software will not allow me to edit a quote and I quoted your post exactly as it was at the time I composed my post. I assumed you edited after I hit the quote button.🤷🏻‍♂️

Certainly not by me as it's impossible but let's not detract further from the topic.

You will need to explain most of your posts ,as I and others on this forum I suspect , are of an age where "Short cut!" capital letters are a foreign. Language surprised

JV, the last time ‘Frank down the pub’ gave me advice it was concerning the face mask I had hanging from my neck. . .He told me Covid-19 was a big con being used by China to make $billions around the World & as soon as we breathe thru the masks we’re infected🤷🏻‍♂️. I didn’t bother to tell him mine was Brit bought or that I was concerned for his mental health. You may know some real Franks but I’ve never met one👍🏻
