Hi can anybody recomend a portable dog pen or fencing which will hold 2 medium size dogs, for a Motor home.

I’m not sure what you're asking, Chrissy.

Do you want a travelling crate or are you hoping to create a compound outside? (The latter may not be allowed by the site operator.)

Hi I am looking for an area that will allow the dogs freedom to come in the van and go out, instead of using the usual corkscrew and lead.  I have thought about using 2 windbreaks but there would be no way of us getting in and out.

Regards

On club sites dogs are required to be tethered at all times when outside of the MH/cvan so I can't see that a 'pen' would be any advantage.

Having had dogs on sites for over 40 years, we never found the need to have anything other than an anchored lead. Our dogs never went outside unaccompanied - how can you be aware of any 'accidents' if you’re not watching them?

If legs are too short to step over, what is wrong with using the driver's door?

Some years ago on the High Onn site I saw a couple set up a "pen" using Isabella wind breaks to pen their dogs.  The warden quickly told them that creating such enclosures was "verboten"  It had to be removed and as they objected they were told to leave the site.  I have no idea what the present "ruling" is but I suspect it they will not be allowed.

I've seen a dog enclosure used at Black Knowl, no objections. It was like a windbreak but was more rigid with horizontal poles top and bottom, it had non see through fabric sides so the dogs couldn't see every passer by. Probably took up quite a bit of room when packed away but it was a successful set up. The problem is fitting everything onto a pitch, easier to set up on grass pitches, a lot of secure hammer work needed. You've also got to make sure the dogs can't push their way out, under the edges or under the van....our terrier would make a good tester!

Can't find details but they are out there, maybe look at specialist dog show sites etc.?

Has any thought been given to the next people to use the pitch!! If two medium sized dogs are contained within a small area there would be quite a lot of contamination on the grass, Hardly fair for the next people.

When I have seen dogs corralled on site they have not been left unattended. In fact the owner(s) have often been corralled with them

Why do you think that? Assuming the dogs are exercised correctly there would be no more "contamination" than if they were tethered outside on the pitch. undecided
