Hi can anybody recomend a portable dog pen or fencing which will hold 2 medium size dogs, for a Motor home.

I have several times been on pitches where the evidence of the previous occupants has filled the awning on a hot day. When dogs wee on the ground there is nothing to be done about it.

Yes, but my point was that if the dogs are correctly exercised and, presumably, attended when in the "pen" why would there be any more "contamination" than if they were just on the pitch anyway? Why do folk assume the worst of dog owners who ask for help on this forum? undecided

Has any thought been given to the next people to use the pitch!! If two medium sized dogs are contained within a small area there would be quite a lot of contamination on the grass, Hardly fair for the next people.

I would think that there is more chance of any "contamination" or "smell" lingering in climates with less rainfall than the UKwink

Cant say we have the "alleged" problem in our garden where our two dogs do their business. Maybe its just a another perceived problem by non dog owners ?

It has nothing to do with assuming the worst of dog owners, it is stating the obvious. Dogs foul on the grass weather they are tethered or fenced in, which is always unpleasant for the following members using the pitch. I have had to stop my grandchildren more than once from playing and rolling around on grass around the pitch because of residue of dog fouling, that is part of what I dislike, not the owners.

So if we were to pitch up next to you on site, B, would your immediate assumption be "they've got two dogs, they're bound to let them wee and poo all over the pitch, must keep the grandchildren well clear"? undecided

Not if they’re correctly exercised and given the chance to 'go' elsewhere, BS. Dogs don’t constantly pee and won’t use the pitch if the owner is vigilant and caring enough to take them to the appropriate place regularly.

When I have seen dogs corralled on site they have not been left unattended. In fact the owner(s) have often been corralled with them

That's what usually happens, most would be with their dogs and screening sometimes helps the dogs being distracted by passersby. Prevents complaints about barking. smile

Sorry Moulesy, I don't see what you pitching up beside me has to do with dogs being tethered or enclosed on a pitch, I would not let my grandchildren walk over or play on your pitch weather you had dogs or not. I have been pitched many times beside members with dogs and I talk and pass the time with them the same as anyone else!

The point I have been trying to make on this thread and in answer to the OP with regard to fencing in the dogs on the pitch, is that have they ever thought about the next users of the pitch with regard to the contamination that is unavoidable when dogs are tethered or enclosed.

Maybe (tongue in cheek) you are advocating segregating CMC sites into pitches that are 'dogs permitted' and pitches that are 'dog free' (May the lord forgive me for what I have said!!)
