Hi,

Been looking for an automatic satellite dish, roof mounted (for ease). Selfsat Snipe V2 with twin LNB seems to show up as best value and quality for money. Has anyone any advice or suggestions with this or recommend another?. Im fairly new to caravanning and my van is pitched in the north east of scotland seasonally so wont matter about range outwith UK. All advice etc. appreciated.

Cheers,

Marc

imised to have a manual version of the twin LMB Self Sat on my Bolero, equivalent to a 60cm dish, but smaller and less affected by wind....easy to tune in, too....

the Snipe auto version seems to ne good valie and work pretty well, from the reports ive read...

Not being funny and all that.  But as your van is seasonally pitched wouldn't a standard dish on a pole work just as well and save a ton of money?

I'd rather have a permanant fixture on the roof, do it right and thats it. I understand and appreciate what your saying, but having a pole with a dish at the front of the van would get my OCD going.. i like to keep everything looking clean as possible.

We have a Satfi RV twin dome fitted as no need to lower the dish in high winds.  Worked okay for us in France.

Sounds as though a 65cm Maxview crank up sytem would meet your needs, less than half the price of a fully automatic system and it would fit very neatly on your roof.

But then that would not meet the OP's need as inside the van there will be extra clutter, certainly not as clean as possible, to get the OCD going even stronger.

We have an Oyster system and it works really well.

glad to hear that, we are having one of these fitted at the end of the year, think its an 85cm with autoskew.

We have a mecatronic 85cm fully automatic dish with auto skew, purchased and fitted from Roadpro, excellent piece of kit, well worth the expense.

I cannot imaging the "clutter" to be any worse than a fully automatic system as no control box is required but if the OP wants to pay three times as much for an automatic one for use on what is essentially a static van, then it is his choice.
