Motorhome waste point

Just back from Stonehaven club site. Excellent site all round and very well maintained by the wardens ๐Ÿ‘.

While at the above site on the day of departure I noticed 2 motorhomes drive over the motorhome waste point and started to empty there waste water with the drain cover still closed. When I empty my waste water at the drain I lift off the drain cover to let the water go straight into the drain then replace the drain cover when finished.

What is the correct procedure when there is no grid and it’s a wast point with a cover over it?

I also had a polite word with a gentleman whom had lifted the waste point drain cover and emptied his toilet waste down the waste drain ๐Ÿค”.

Might be my perception but on CC sites MH owners certainly seem to be a greater proportion geriatric than those with caravans.

Last time we were at Clumber the warden mentioned they were putting the grids in. If it only takes a couple of days hopefully other sites will rapidly follow. The cost has got to be less than the claim for my bad back.๐Ÿ˜‰

You need to upgrade your inadequate M/C waste outlet to some thing user friendly, coolwink

Steve, and others, have an extra extension hose which does help with 'reach' but how can this 'improvement' assist with the removal of heavy, awkward manhole covers?

the issues of inadequate waste disposal points include, poor location and access, heavy lids and more.

a metre of flexi pipe isnt the one stop answer you keep banging on about...

the club needs to get on and sort this ASAP....

Is it because its more of  wimpy/older owners that are having problems as since M/Cs owners were  accepted as members in the 1970s the "problem" has only in the last couple of years wink

P.s it took a couple of days per MC service point to be installed at Clumber Park as all the waste/water supplies  needed alteringsurprised

Continually having a dig at motorhomers, even with the added "emoji" possibly means you have no practical input towards the present situation, indeed you gave up your motorhome because you said you found things were difficult. Why not leave motorhomers to discuss this matter as for many the heavy lids and often awkward drive ins on disposal points are a genuine talking point and it will be a lot better when improvements are made.

I'm glad to hear it only took a couple of days to fix the new Clumber Park outlet, that sounds good. smile

Campervans and motorhomes have been around for a very long time even if the club has been slow to accommodate them.

JV, you shock me. Only a few days ago you were saying that health issues might force you to return to a MH but now you insult those who have. Remind me to call you wimpy if/when you do it ๐Ÿคจ

As a 'wimpy/older owner' I am not offended.

No it didn't, neither did it offend but I pointed out the reasons why I responded JVB and why some types of response are less than helpful.

But I did say we also think it will take awfull lot of service pitches before the cost of a motor caravan can be justified,as also the downsides outstrip the possible? Positivescool

JVB, this thread is about using waste points not about the cost of motorhomes. undecided
