Red Pennant again

I understand that many members take out Multi trip Red Pennant insurance if they intend to go abroad twice a year. These would appear to trips either side of the peak season to coincide with the ACSI periods.

My questions is does this Multi trip insurance only work in a Calendar year and consequently would it not work if we holidayed August and the following May rather than May/August of the same year.

Reading the Info ,it would be 12months from taking it out and 66days door to door max each trip, but of coures you need to be a  cc member to take advantagewink

Thanks for the info. I have no problem in joining in the future if I can see a benefit as  I did use RP previously when I was a member. I have not yet looked into the CCCs equivalent for which I am a member.

Thanks David for your thoughts .

Re your second point; it does seem like it but possibly they have both had a change of thought and would like to visit sites, without booking, at half the price and no white pegs.  laughing

Like AD we have used the Long Stay 122 days, you can make multiple trips in the 12mth period. Don't forget that RP runs from HOME to HOME, so calculate in how many days it takes to get to your out going ferry and again your home coming ferry.

Always thought that this rule discriminates against those members that live a long way from the ferry terminals. In addition you're not supposed to have any time holidaying in the UK before or after your holiday. Ridiculous. Stupid arcane rule which the CC should make representations to the insurers to amend.

Have a look at Long Stay,  it might be cheaper to take the 122 day option and you can use that in a 12 month period. We like to take a long trip and then a shorter 6 week trip which together come to 122 days. I have not  gone  into the next year with mine  so you could do with getting  a definitive answer from the foreign touring dept

Strange you have had the first 2 replies from folk who will never use it, are you being stalked?

And of course you would know what we have done, before we decided it was much easier to have others do the driving undecided
