Paper or paperless

If it saves the club money by not sending the magazine then I can see no logical reason why at least a percentage of that saving could not be passed on to the member. The few that object could send the saving to a charity.

I have been looking at cancelling the magazine as at best I only give it a flick through. However, with the club embracing Twitface then I can see that unless you take the magazine, news items that actually matter (such as a sudden site closing) will not be transmitted to those not usingTwitface until the new handbook every 2 years.

Unless someone mentions it on CT of course.

I would prefer a paperless option.  I read the magazine but wouldn't miss it and the handbook and map don't make it out of the envelope they come in as the map is too inaccurate and the handbook out of date the minute it arrives (in terms of CL openings and closures at least)

So as far as the statement of the Club rep that said that members wants the books goes it's inaccurate as I certainly don't.  I don't necessarily want a discount - I just don't want them

I live right on the North/South crease and it's a right pain opening it right up to re-fold it for the other map. It usually gets ripped second or third time of using it!

Two points from the op, paperless and pay for a WC key.

I read the paper mag as I like books and the tactile nature of a magazine. Not sure I would click on to an on-line magazine as readily.

If you don't want loos, you could always choose to stay on a CL? Keys for WC blocks are a pain and/or add expense/admin to operate.

A paperless option would still have to include an on line copy of the magazine. The magazine has to go to everyone to keep up the numbers. Not getting one means the numbers drop and so does advertising revenue.

Not paying for the facilities would mean increasing the cost to those who do so it would not work and as pointed out people will cheat.
