Paper or paperless

At the  lawns caravan show at Cottingham last weekend I was talking to a guy on the Caravan club stand, I ask why the caravan club dosn't give discount for papperless, the camping and caravan club charge £37.00 for papperless or £43.00 for papper membership,

he said our members want the books, I also ask why we need Toilet blocks on club sites, I ask why dont we have 2 prices 1 if you want the key to the Toilet block, 2 you just want to use your caravan toilet/shower.

what do others think

1; would you like a cheaper price for papperless, only great days out in papper

2; would you like cheaper club site & pay extra only if you want the key/code to the toilet block

A comparison could be made with my sailing club. The slipway is used by all boat owners. Cruisers use the pontoon and craning derrick. Dinghy racers use neither but use the changing rooms and the boat compound. We all use different facilities, some more, some less. We all pay the same subscription.

Getting back to the subject, many organisations with a monthly magazine offer an electronic copy at reduced membership fee. I have gone for this option where offered however I admit it is not always as easy to read (depends on how the page set up works). I would still want the site hand book as it would not always be possible to search on line for sites when moving.

I would go for a no magazine/handbook  and price reduction if it were offered, or an electronic one over a paper one (assuming there was a reduction) like the CCC offer.

I don't think it would be possible to only give the code/key to some - as others have said someone will usually open the door for you if you forget your key so the same would happen. Also those who dont use the toilet/shower in the block are actually going to be using more water/waste disposal for their caravan or motorhome so costing the site on that front so a discount wouldnt be appropriate.   IMO all club sites should have the basic facilities of toilet/shower/hook up and that should be included in the price.

I would go for reduction for non use of toilet block but as BMB says it would  Have to be on trust.  I appreciate the choice of the other club not to use EHU and get a reduction.

Write your comments here...for your first question yes it should be an option but.  On your second point I assume if you don't use the toilet block you are going to bring your own water to site and take your waste water and toilet waste home with you as the cost would have to take that into account or would you still want to use the site facilities ie water and waste/sewage disposal but just not walk to the shower block?
