Paper or paperless

At the  lawns caravan show at Cottingham last weekend I was talking to a guy on the Caravan club stand, I ask why the caravan club dosn't give discount for papperless, the camping and caravan club charge £37.00 for papperless or £43.00 for papper membership,

he said our members want the books, I also ask why we need Toilet blocks on club sites, I ask why dont we have 2 prices 1 if you want the key to the Toilet block, 2 you just want to use your caravan toilet/shower.

what do others think

1; would you like a cheaper price for papperless, only great days out in papper

2; would you like cheaper club site & pay extra only if you want the key/code to the toilet block

The C&CC discount of a fiver or so to do without the magazine isn't enough of an incentive for us even though the magazine goes more or less straight into recycling.

As far as the use of toilet blocks is concerned, for me it's a non starter - if you choose to go to a CC site with facilities you pay the going rate. To have two different rates just smacks a bit of the "I'll pay for what I use and not a penny more" philosophy.

If you don't want the toilet/shower facilities I'm pretty certain you could find a basic CL within, say, 10 miles of any CC site.

So, sorry, but for me, both ideas are non starters.

I chose to reject the mag so I don't want a discount. It's good to have total access to all the facilities including the Shower blocks so basically my vote is-leave it alone, it ain't bust it don't need fixingHappy

If I could dump the useless magazine but still have the handbook and map then I would.

With the other club it's all or nothing

In fairness the magazine is probably useful to newbies, where it falls down is there is not a great deal of content for the experienced.

I've amended the title of the thread as I presume that it's an error on the part of the OP.  I've also moved it into the Club Products and Services Section as this is more appropriate.

Write your comments here...Bobbr they will then want a reduction on memebership for lack of magazine as well.....When you join a club you may have to pay extra for some facilities and less for others but that is what club membership is for.If you are going to  quibble over every last penny then possibly best not join a club......The facilities have to be maintained, serviced and checked for all members whether you use or not.Tough that's the way it goes in a CLUB.  SG2

Thanks SG I joined in early 1980's so I reckon I have a commitment to the cc.

We are discussing possibilities on a forum.

Or is that not allowed by SG?
