A simple question. As the caravan club no longer offer caravan insurance as such what suggestions for a new insurer that does.

No I have not checked what other companies have posted that might affect new business following CMCs restrictions for new policies. Why would I. I would not want to presently take a new CMC policy with current temporary restriction, would you?

If we are talking about a 'spat' with the CMC cover on existing policies JVB I don't have a 'spat' just my personal concerns and reasons for not renewing based on previous experiences. Pretty simple as I have said that CMC offers god cover if you are happy but that it is not for me.

Please don't play the man as there is far too much of that on forum at present don't you think. And yes I am guilty of minor retaliation. Human nature perhaps

Then as some have said , without any evidence-based poor service or lack of being covered  for a claim, then the majority of posts "complaining" about caravan cover are in the majority by those , who although being members will find any  "excuses " to knock an organisation that seems to be accepted as the place to be by many thousands of members which is shown, by use they make of the services that are on offercool

This is a quote from a well known insurance companies guide to caravan insurance.

"With touring caravans, it's difficult to be very prescriptive about where they're going to be kept," Ed continues, "But certainly if it's a location where there's a history of flooding, you should check your policy documents carefully to ascertain if your caravan is still covered."
So whilst the vast majority of the UK is open for touring caravanners to explore, a certain level of caution is recommended when looking at a riverside pitch."

Then there are others who will defend it to the hilt no matter how bad the scenario as they cannot see past their rose tinted glasses while wearing blinders.  laughing

Works both ways and if people never complained nothing would be done to improve the service and address shortfalls.

I'm quite sure that any insurance company will take a view of the flood risk at each postcode where your RV is normally stored and adjust their premium accordingly.

I would have thought that they do that already?

I am unsure, in your case JVB, whether your post was directed at me or a more general comment.

I am very happy with CMC and hence why I have been a member for more than half my lifetime.
