What changes would you make ?

If you could, what five changes would you make to the clubs rules, procedures, systems etc.

Mine would be

1) book 12 months ahead on a rolling basis

2) be able to book late checkout

3) pitch anyway on your pitch, nose in, sideways etc

4) never have all toilet blocks closed at same time for cleaning

5) more full service pitches

no moaning about rules are rules, you signed up etc, I just wondered if there were any common

threads.

Charge for dogs and limit how many dogs per Caravans, as they do on commercial sites.

Posted on 20/01/2018 18:35

That's odd, because we stayed at on of the commercial sites most often praised on here, Ross Park, in June. No charge for dogs, in fact the first thing they did was to give us a Bonio  for each of the dogs. And they allow dogs in one of the dining areas. Presumably you mean "some" commercial sites?

Partly agree Charlie.. But ....Let the first dog go free of charge and levy a hefty nightly charge each for any subsequent dogs. That would have the benefit of stopping people bringing packs of dogs to campsites.

cool

Ah, there speaks a caravanner with one dog. No self interest there, eh, K? undecided

Ken, they also realise that to do anything to harm the trade brought by dog owning members will be shooting themselves in the foot.

Oh, and I’ve nothing against the Euro or those who use them as long as it’s in the right place and relevant.

Why is the suggestion not relevant? The title of the thread is "What changes would you make?" If members make suggestions based on experiences elsewhere, does it really matter if those experiences were paid for in Euros, or whatever?

Good practice is good practice, wherever it is found. Or is the Club so perfect that it has nothing to learn?

You miss the point, WTG. It's the relevance, not the currency.

Anyway, who's to say it’s good practice?

Not club sites but there are 42 UK sites in the ACSI scheme and most around €17,   I suppose they will be converting that to sterling but at £15 at the moment the list looks worth a look. see < here >

Some nice looking sites on there. Although we haven't stayed on any, we do know a few of the Cornish ones. That site at Tavistock looks very nice, we like it around there. Only had a glance at prices.

are you saying that paying extra for dogs is good practice?

Also who is say what good practice is? My good practice may not be yours and vice versa of course?
