What changes would you make ?

If you could, what five changes would you make to the clubs rules, procedures, systems etc.

Mine would be

1) book 12 months ahead on a rolling basis

2) be able to book late checkout

3) pitch anyway on your pitch, nose in, sideways etc

4) never have all toilet blocks closed at same time for cleaning

5) more full service pitches

no moaning about rules are rules, you signed up etc, I just wondered if there were any common

threads.

Charge for dogs and limit how many dogs per Caravans, as they do on commercial sites.

You make it sound as if charging for and limiting dogs on commercial sites is the norm, Charlie. I can assure you it is not.

Do you have an axe to grind and want to penalise the many club members who enjoy the company of their pets?

Perhaps you’re not aware that the club has already said they have no plans to do as you suggest.

I assume your reasons are not just because they do on other sites so why?

We used 25 sites last year which was about typical and would put the total around 450 over 20 years but with quite a few repeat visits. I think we will have to differ about CAMC pitches being spacious in comparison to continental sites. I have not felt pitches were cramped at all apart from maybe Germany and Italy where we have not spent a lot of time, the pitches we spent the most time on this year in Spain Portugal and Croatia would comfortably swallowed at least 2 standard club pitches.

I think pitch size in France is much more variable than the CAMC sites in the UK - sometimes really large, other times quite small.  I have found that there are often both types of pitches on the same site, enabling pitch matching to the size and type of unit.  I agree about the smaller pitches in Italy and Germany, generally.

Partly agree Charlie.. But ....Let the first dog go free of charge and levy a hefty nightly charge each for any subsequent dogs. That would have the benefit of stopping people bringing packs of dogs to campsites.

cool

Even charging €3 or 4€ has that effect and thats hardly hefty.K

Sorry, have we joined the € zone during the night?

I very much doubt any experience involving the € is relevant here.
