Site Rules

I have seen various comments on this forum recently, but rather than make my own comments I thought I'd consult the Club's Site rules first.

Having tried and failed to find them, I used live chat and sure enough a link was sent to me to read the rules.

The problem comes when I try to access them myself without said link because they are just not visible. Do others have the same problem?

Surely it's something which should be easy to access, especially for newer members, non-members and of course, as a refresher for the more forgetful - like me?

I do not suppose it has crossed anyone mind to look in the sites directory they are all in therewink

Agree JVB but non members wouldn't have access to them and in this digital age we now live in - surely it should be prominent on the website? 😉

Indeed it did but appearing in the book doesn't negate the importance of having the site rules easily accessible on the website.

Likewise, plus the HHA Handbook too. Couldn't do with out both this year's and last year's editions.

I wonder how many read and /or bother to abide by the rules anyhow.  We find the rules well set out to provide consideration for everyone on site, without infringing  on the freedom of anyone to enjoy their stay.  Yet there always seems to be an element who find it difficult to follow the rules in one way or another.

Last year, at Sandringham, I had reason to advise two visitors about their failings.   One was when an unleashed dog came onto our pitch and wet on our EHU cable.  The owner offered to wash the cable - I said I could do that myself, but had he abided by the rules we would not be having this conversation.   The second event was when a visitor drove his vehicle onto the grass finger and almost scraping my car on one side, and the awning of the neighbouring pitch.  It was totally stupid behaviour, because he could not manoeuvre his vehicle until he had reversed from between our outfits, but he had put both at risk of damage.  Typically, I was in the wrong for pointing out the errors of their ways.

I can remember our early camping days, when we all considered each other without any need for rules.  Why can't it be like that now?
