Singles Penalised

Does anyone else feel that singles are penalised when it comes to deals?  The Club keeps saying that £14 per night is a grand deal for 2 adults and up to 4 children.  True - it is  But for singles it is NOT.  There are over 60,000 of us who do not get the same benefits as families or couples.  Despite my efforts nobody seems to care.  If there are good deals on offer then they should be open to ALL members even if they are lone travellers.  Does anyone else feel the same?

Hello Tootsie

Have you contacted the club to raise your concerns with them? Are you saying 60,000 of our members are singles?

I'll flag up your post with the Community Manager.

Cheers

Bugs

Please take a closer look at the prices Tootsie. My OH is going to enjoy a full facility site on his own for just £9.50 a night, in July! All you have to do is take a good long look at the prices, not easy I admit given the dozens of permutations, but there are some absolute bargains if you can be bothered to look for them! Exeter Racecourse site for those that are wondering, great location for him and dogs. Cycling in Haldon Forest and on Dartmoor, close to some nice beaches, great city in Exeter, easy access to main routes. Not quite sure how much cheaper you would want, but I call that a real bargain! And with toilets, showers, laundry etc....

I have some sympathy with you, tootsie, although in fairness I think the club offers solo travellers a pretty good deal compared to some other organisations because of its "pitch + person" pricing structure. But I can see that the statement you gave in your OP does come across as a bit insensitive. As TtDA says, there are some good deals out there but you do have to look them out. Have you tried any CLs? They can also offer some economical rates and are one of the main reasons many of us are club members.

Hope you find some good deals! Happy

I'm sorry you both feel penalised, but help me to understand how? you pay a pitch fee and then a single adult fee? Is that correct? What would you like to pay?

I don't understang why the pitch fee does not include one adult. How else might the caravan or motorhome get to the site without the intervention of at least one adult?  And it can't be to do with leaving unoccupied overnight as fees are still payable.

Stop being so logical!

If Exeter is too far, try Hebden Bridge!  £10.60, not including any midweek discount.

All you have to do is search the sites, bargains are out there!

If the CC charges per person, then by that logic it is also discriminating against couples without children.  Personally, I don't think this is the case.  Whilst the fees themselves are a seperate issue (there are another couple of threads on this so not going to comment further), in my opinon that pricing policy is fair to singles and couples and in  my opinon, families should not really have to pay for their children (and I don't have children or grandchildren).
