Should the Club put it's foot down?

It's good that over the last few years the Club has been moving towards being more aware of the needs of our planet and the care of it's environment. Certainly sites like Poolsbrook with eco aware facilities are to be aplauded. The Club rightly should encourage, even expect, it's members to play their part in cutting energy consumption, and think beyond "just me".

Is it then time for the Club to introduce a TOTAL ban on awning heaters on thie sites? No doubt some members will see this as an infringement of their rights. That right being, in this case, to completely ignore the consequences of using energy in what is basically an outdoor space.

And the rest of us can just shut up, stop whinge-ing on, and pay for their electricity wastage in our site fees.

At least some CL owners are aware of this, and have moved to banning awning heaters on their sites.

That is indeed how it was done as well as refunding the deposit paid for the card if you returned it. In the case of Club sites, all fitted with the same system, you would keep the card until the next visit to a Club site. The only time you would bother any staff would be for a top up of the card which you could do when checking in.

If pitches are on a meter, will the plug be locked into the post? Don't want next door pitch to 'steal' my leccy while I'm out for the day .... 🙄

When ehu was an add price if wanted,on club sites, it was common practice for site staff to note those who "did not want ehu" because of the often plug in at night, or when "no one will notice on a big site"brigadeundecided

I know exactly which site that is Alan, and I think you'll find it was the "bargain site" PD teased us about for some time before admitting it was only cheap because it was a C&CC THS! laughing

It was indeed at that site which offered a field for a THS but still provided electric points in the manner stated. The price and the manner of provision of electricty was exactly the same as if pitched on its commercial fields.

Would that be a site with the same provision? Remind me when CC first said that it would be updating MH service points

Mmmmmm .... a discount of about  £2.50 for non EHU users? Yep, I'd go with that, but you're going to get an awful lot of flack from certain quarters, David! surprised

Probably not as much as Cayton Village and its refurbishment or the rebranding.

not sure why some folk pay membership fees and site fees to this club if it is as bad as described in many areas, and before you ask, i pay membership fees because of the benefits i get for overseas travel mainly and the overseas part of this forum, but very seldom use club sites.

as for installing meters, sure there would be an initial capital cost that would take some years to re-coup, but the club seem to pursue a course of buying sites that must cost thousands to bring up to club standards, Bingham Grange being one of many, just maybe they should concentrate efforts in upgrading exisiting sites to make them more "Green", solar panels on facilities blocks, motion sensor lights that are set properly, etc, that said does anybody from the club monitor this forum undecided
