There is a table of events including QT ;  MtM  and AGM's   It is noted  that once again the nation of Scotland has been bypassed by the CC.

While England gets the interesting Question Time and Meet the Members ,  Scotland has been ignored and stuck with just an AGM.  That's no use to the Scottish CC membership as the AGM, (and I've been there, done that) is only of interest to the minority rallyists group.

Wales have at least a MtM which I am happy about.

Perhaps Scotland is just a little far for the Grinstead staff to travel.

I'm sure I am not the only Scot questioning the decision.

Surely a decision is "top down" when Head Office decides to let (make?) the troops do it?

Write your comments here...I have to agree with that - good post.

And yet there are  those who still think that the organisation of those events are somehow not any responsibility of the CC.

K

Top Down.

Despite an extensive search, I am unable to find a definition of “top down” decision making that seems to agree with your understanding of it

Wow we have often seen glitches involving double posts during edits, this is the first time the system has thrown up three during an edit.   Could a mod please delete the first two posts leaving my last one .   Thank you.

I will report the glitch to Grimstead via the forum manager.

All helps in that relentless march to a second purple, though, K! Wink

Definition of "top down" :

denoting a system of government or management in which actions and policies are initiated at the highest level; hierarchical.

As the events are initiated by the Divisions and Regions then this is not "top down" rather middle up.

Just one quick question Kennine, after much discussion etc here on the topic, are you going to pursue the possibility in volunteering within the CC so that once again the Scottish members can have question and answer events even c?

Still no response on this Vivien, seems to be avoiding the question. Smile

Hey - Have a heart. The poor old chap's far too busy trying to outdo Bugs on the philosophical matter of "what makes a champion a champion?" or should that be "what makes  moderator a moderator?" Vital matters of that sort! I do think he should take up a nice relaxing hobby - maybe caravanning would suit!! Wink. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

Just noticed a question from Vivien.

In all honesty, there are combined, over 80 elected CC rally centre and CC rally Regional committee members in Scotland.  If their combined efforts cannot secure an event in this Nation, I don't see one caravanner working alone being able to do any better.

The CC has made it's decision for this year let's see what next year brings.

You say the CC but it is my understanding that within the constitution of the club it is up to the members at a regional level to call for such events. It looks as if the Scottish members did not wish to do so! Don't forget that it is still a club and its constitution and governance reflects this.

Thank you Micky, You appear to know more about the Constitution / Governance and the internal workings of the CC than most people.---- Must have a look at their business model sometime.----To most customers it's just a business selling goods and services called the CC.

I am a member of the Club.  I live in Scotland. I am a member of a centre (but cant remember which one)

I would like to attend an interaction meeting i.e. NOT an AGM.

I would like the Caravan Club to organise this.  I am NOT volunteering to do it for them.

I do not have any Caravan Club badges to pin on my lapel.

Any one else in the same situation?  We can start a list.
