No longer welcomed

I consider myself a Campervanner, so do I no longer fit in with the "better" club. Prior to rebranding the differences never crossed my mind.

Fisherman

As I am sure you know full well your motorhome is always welcome on any Club site. Just because you chose to call it by one name and the Club uses the more generic term for that type of vehicle is neither here nor there you are still free to make the same use of the Club as you were before the name change. Using your logic you were less welcome before the name change as it only had the word caravan in the name?

As you persist in telling us at every opportunity. However the powers that be decided they would call it the Caravan and Motorhome Club. I somehow doubt that is going to change anytime soon so I think we should all do our best to try and get used to it?

The powers that be can call it what they like.  It will always be the Caravan Club to me, and I'm a motorhomer!!

Hi all

I'm jumping into the lion's den here but I get personally upset when I see a discussion titled "no longer welcomed"... we can discuss the various types of vans, their names, merits and internal components but rest assured, The Caravan and Motorhome Club welcome all vehicles with the clear intention of touring as a leisure activity.

I hope that in time those who oppose the name change will understand there are no greater or lesser welcomes on site - we just want all that are lucky enough to embrace this great hobby to get out there and enjoy their adventures.

Thanks,

Helen

My comments were really just thinking. All that money spent. Their own magazine differentiates between Caravans, Motorhomes and Campervans yet the powers that be could not see it. What a waste. Yes we are stuck with it and it will be a CC to me.

Motor caravans have been welcome in the club since 1962 the name on registration document V5  states Motor caravan,,so where was the justification for spending one million pound plus to encompass a Made up "marketing"name,,a motor caravan is a Caravan with a cab instead of a car pulling it

ps Even The chairman called them motor caravans,

pps Rant over, sorry as you are probably not to blame

Does it really matter , probably not....... its just a name I'm sure every member is more than welcome to continue to book & use the CMC sites just as before .

No matter what you roll up in ..............😇

Some of us will probably never accept it, and I for one will always refer to it as the Caravan Club.  However we are stuck with it for now. Until that is when subscriptions come up for renewal. Not sure then, but its a few months off yet.  Just wish I could see the reason for it, and the justification for the cost.

Nuff said. Endit now.

Perhaps Helen should have written the four key values instead of whoever did write them

You see it isn't the name of the club that makes me feel I'm no longer welcomed (or to be accurate - not the target market) it's the four key values.
