I consider myself a Campervanner, so do I no longer fit in with the "better" club. Prior to rebranding the differences never crossed my mind.

Many sites take non-members, both in CC and C&CC. There is growing provision for tests in CC. Personally I can't see why not every site as a tent is just an awning without a caravan after all!

As the majority on here and Face thingy also agree,  but the Marketing dept have to  try to justify their large budget some how , even though as has been shown with the new "company"and now the latest "news" of regional versions of the magazine ,they are so out of touch with the membership and ethos of the clubyell

Vitually all enterprises are run by the executive for the executive. Customers, shareholders, members, clients etc are just there to provide income.

Going off topic again. Its the new signage this is about with  discrimination against  Campervaners,

When we first joined the CC my family first joined CC we had a trailer tent with no loo on board. We did have a portable loo and a toilet tent though. The toilet tent could also be set up within the 'dance hall' sized awning if we required. OK awning was not the size of a dance hall but seemed vast

Motorhome is just a different word for campervan, IMHO.  On CT one is either a caravanner or motorhomer on one's profile.  Perhaps that's where the new name came from?

I couldn't care less what the club is called, but do consider the expenditure the name change necessitated a waste of money, which could have been put to better use.  Again, IMHO.

I guess anyone, whatever outfit, can use sites where suitable space/provision is made for them.  Perhaps we will see more tents on more club sites.

Fisherman

As I am sure you know full well your motorhome is always welcome on any Club site. Just because you chose to call it by one name and the Club uses the more generic term for that type of vehicle is neither here nor there you are still free to make the same use of the Club as you were before the name change. Using your logic you were less welcome before the name change as it only had the word caravan in the name?

Not really. You need to have a recognised unit/conversion with dedicated sleeping arrangements, storage etc. The club will not allow sleeping in unconverted vehicles even if fitted with canvas extensions and tents are not permitted on all sites.
