Is it a rip off?

Hi I have a rant to get off my chest

Just booked a site for 21 nights for an eye watering £540!   After I got back on my feet I was informed that Caravan and Motor home club have increased their Easter fees this week two weeks early.  Why I ask. even the management were embarrassed and thought it were shocking.

I spent 5 nights last week on a fabulous caravan and camping club site in heart of Northumberland with all the facilities and with over 60s discount £8 pn!

After only just re-joining I cannot  see the benefits of staying with  C&M club prices are beyond out reach.

MikeyA - might be an idea to contact HO and ask them to add Member to you avatar unless it's my laptop gone awry yet again and that's why I can't see it.

Can't really say it bothers me.

"I can understand your preference for a site without the "bells and whistles". The point some of us have been trying to make is that the club pricing is the same whilst providing less."

But the point is, surely, that, for many of us, less is more.  I don't expect a site necessarily to charge less just because it doesn't have a bar/restaurant (maybe these are money makers allowing such sites to keep headline prices down?) So if the pricing is the same what's the problem?

PS - I thought better of you than to use that rather insulting throw away line at the end CY - leave it to those who seem to make a habit of it! wink

I do hope this clarifies things for the "defenders of the faith"

shame about that sentence, it appears anyone with a contrary view to yourself has to be ridiculed and labelled like this? Why?undecided

But if you do not like club sites due to what they offer and the price they charge then do not use them and find somewhere that does suit you, rather than expect the club to make all sorts of changes just for you?

I don't know what your problem is Sailor Sam but it seems that you are saying that it is not the price so much as the absence of bells and whistles at that price. Maybe look for a site with heated seats and bells and whistles for a similar price. Personally, to take my stolen line back from Moulesy, less is definately more for some of us.

Its a good to know that the club have so many "defenders of the faith"as is proved by the huge occupancy of most club sites, but all "faiths" have a few non believers who will keep trying to disprove the facts

winksurprised
