Insidious Development

Question!!! Why and Who made the decision to install static accommodation units on Club site's.Surely these sites are provided for members who take to the road in their own funded vehicles, why are we now being asked to fund the life style of these "Static Dwellers".Are these Static Units really for the use of friends and family? If so why is their a 10percent discount for members. No they will be rented out to people who have not the slightest interest in our way of life.If friends or family want to experience caravaning and motorhoming their is always the opportunity to hire.I would be pleased to be enlightened on what the perceived benifits are to the caravan and motorhome club member A further point is that the number of pitches available to members will be reduced this is especially important at peek periods.A large area at Coniston Park Coppice has been allocated to these Static Units complete with their veranda decking. We members are funding this cost and will not derive any benifit. It is time to stop this Insidious Development.

Here's the link to these newer types of camping, it seems that Coniston is due to have ten new units by the summer. The Yurts are only on one site at the moment.

As I said earlier my daughter and bf will be using a camping pod late summer there while we're there in the caravan, so I'll report back personally.

We get to be together as a family and it's quite cheap for them.

I don't have a Dream – but I do have a Crystel Ball.

I see lurking in the shadows a diminutive figure from a different era.

This often forgotten individual is looking at the business strategy of the leaders of the C&MC.

A crack of light, a shaft of sun and inspiration crosses his brow.

Yes, the MD of Butlins has his beady eye on the leisure sites owned by the C&MC.

You have been warned.

Be afraid, be very afraid.

All the time it is a "members club" the only way it can be "obtained?" is as happened to the AA and RAC by offering a "bribe" in the way of small payment, in comparison with the clubs worth to all the members, large leisure companies have been circling both clubs for years looking for a way in,

The CC  in the past was in hands of a magazine company, that took some getting out of surprised,

Bourne Leisure have been trying to get a tie in for yearsundecided

How could the club be "in the hands of a magazine company"? There are no shares, it’s not a plc. There’s no way any party could hold a financial stake in the club.

Bourne Leisure? Is that fact or speculation? If it’s fact, I think you should share with us.

The bottom line has got to be profit otherwise there can be no future investment, no innovation, no improvements, no new customers. smile

There has to be profit of course but that is not foremost even though important. If it were remove the non-awning pitches on lochside at Bunree and install log cabins.

How are they are going to super tax big MH's?  They are currently taxed as trucks and pay less than the average car.  If that changes "white van man" will be hit hard.

Using Diesel to supply services is one ‘essential’ thing, driving around for pleasure isn’t ‘essential’ DD, so yes I reckon if folk have money to throw around our Govt will ensure it’s thrown their way via a new tax bracket as TW says.

But you're not willing to back it up with fact. undecided

I assume your comment re Bourne Leisure is actually referring to the now defunct deal with Haven.

In what way can that be interpreted as wanting a foot in the door?

That would mean re-designating MH's.  At present mine is classed as a Fiat truck and I'm happy for it to stay that way.  There is no evidence on the V5C that it is a motorhome.

Posted on 22/04/2018 17:05

So you are not convinced any Govt is capable of redesignating or rewording a V5C, really?😂😂😂
