Covid 19 and membership

As all sites and CC approved sites have been suspended for 3 months (30th June) are we to expect the CMHC to suspend all memberships for 3 months.? My membership is due in July so I'm a bit loathed to not be able to use it and go anywhere only to be hit with a renewal as the suspension is lifted.

As has been said the cost of this insurance would almost certainly have put the club off buying it.

I have read that Wimbledon have the insurance at a cost of something like £1.6million, with a potential loss of £160million. The figures may not be remembered correctly but won't be far off.

I also know that some clients of Hiscox Insurance are threatening a class action against them for refusal to meet their claims. These are clients who have specifically bought the insurance including pandemic cover. Hiscox maintain that they should claim off the government, ie us. Be interesting for me as someone who used to deal with this type of thing to see how it pans out.

No confusion here no matter how hard you try to create it.

Non members of the CAMC (some not even owning a Caravan or motorhome ) make daily use of this forum.

Do you think they should contribute to its upkeep or not?

Simple enough question

Well I'm no longer a member though was for several years past and no, I don't think there's an argument for me, or any other non member to "contribute to its upkeep". I mean the membership of the forum is only a very small percentage of the total club  membership and I don't think that anyone pays a supplement to be a member of the forum do they? It's always been open to non members and maybe that's  a strength?

What I do have is 40+ years experience of touring the UK and I'm more than happy to share that experience and recommend sites etc. along with expressing my views on other subjects that crop up.

Simple enough answer! smile

If my main reason for being In the CMC was for the sites then I am afraid I would not be a member of the CMC In my opinion the sites are far to expensive in high season.

Actually Tivano the Wimbledon figure should have been £116million not as quoted £160million.

What's £44million between friends eh?

+1 Good post. You probably spent much more time on club sites than AD in recent years I would imagine?
