During a recent visit to Tredegar site, I noticed that  Holes have been drilled between the male shower cubicles. These have been deliberately positioned to enable lewd behaviour and with the intent of Voyeurism. I have since learnt that this has been an on going problem for at least five years. Don't not allow your children to go to the shower blocks on their own. I reported to the wardens and to the CC head office. But feel that no one is taking this seriously.  I,m not sure what to do next to escalate the problem ? Any suggestions?

Or at least a cheaper solution that may appeal more to the Club's accountants of a "patch" screwed and glued to well cover the hole.

However, whoever drilled the hole in the wrong place initially should have financed replacing the panel.  That is what "management" should have been doing.

Sounds like a new, hole free, panel/board is required then instead of continuously repairing what's already there

i bet they hadn't thought of thatSurprised

I just have to say that (as someone with significant amount of training and dealing with safeguarding issues) this thread has highlighted one of the problem in dealing with such matters - everyone assumes the worst. I am not saying the OP was wrong to bring this to the club's attention, far from it, but a hole went from a being a hole into something lewd and sinister with no real evidence (apart from a hole) with possibly campers and staff tainted.

If a matter is reported (as as I said it's better safe than sorry so anything should be reported) it must be investigated but the main rule is to gather information without any bias or assumptions and then if there is a case to warrant further investigation then give the matter over to the proper authorities. Cetainly school procedures follow this approach.

Write your comments here...I think the quote from the op where he says " I reported to the wardens and to the CC head office. But feel that no one is taking this seriously    I,m not sure what to do next to escalate the problem ? Surprised

Sometimes a speedy verbal communication rather than considered thought will be more important in preventing an incident. Hopefully the rather strongly worded title, whether it's right or wrong will finally bring about the proper repair/replacement of this damaged shower cubicle.

The OP has said "it" has been going on for the last five years but we were there last year and the year before and I did not notice any holes, repairs or patches.

so who do we believe?

On reflection, the OP was right to raise his concerns on the forum ... It would appear that the CC have now taken the issue seriously, since it has been discussed by the membership.

Good point K, if the OP had decided to ignore their initial concerns then later found out an incident occurred that they may have helped stop it would be a hard thing to live with for anyone. I would always follow my conscience for the good of myself & anyone in harms way. If it proves to be a false alarm then so be it. No one should ever be chastised for caring about others safety.
