'Other members'? Does that mean you've joined, FB?

No one here is likely to be able to tell you why CC do anything. You'd need to ask the Club direct but I think you already know that.

How does one member making and then cancelling a booking block someone else from having a holiday when all members have an equal chance of booking? You employ strange logic there.

I am quite content with the cancellation policy

Can someone please tell me the reason the CC allow people to book a site then cancel a few days before they are supposed to to go. Thus blocking the chance of a holiday to everyone else.

P.S This is a genuine question becuase I dont see the logic both from the Clubs perspective and the perspective  of other members

Perhaps a deposit system may make some members more committed to their Bookings...

Only the Club can give you the reason but there has been plenty of discussion about it if you search the threads.

The CC used to have a deposit system Micromort. They obviously decided that it was not a good idea. I, for one, like the present system of no deposit. I have decided on 22 sites for next year. 18 of them are club sites and hence no deposit. I suspect that I shall pay about £100 (or more) in deposits for those 4. If the CC demanded, say, £20 deposit on each of my bookings I would not feel any more or less commited to honouring them.

ET, I don't think the deposits would concern any of the committed Travellers like yourself & others like youHappy

If I was a weekender and booked a pitch for a Friday and Saturday with, for example, a £20 deposit the loss of the deposit would bot concern me. After all I would probably still be in pocket. Imagine forecast 2 days of wind, sleet, hail and I cancel. I loose £20 but probably save £50 in site fees, £10 in coffees out, £25 in fuel. I am suddenly £65 better off!

Each to their own, obviously, but, personally I can't think of anything worse than booking a "honeypot" CC site when it's going to be full, even more so if it involves taking part in frenzy day madness!

Agree

Agree

If you want a 'honeypot' site they will usually be full when you arrive hence why they are descibed as 'honepot'. Actually there are none that I wish to use.

I can never understand why anybody considers booking start day to be a day of madness. I have 4 sites to book by phone and 18 club site bookings. I shan't be frenzied. I will sit down quietly, probably with my second coffee of the day, and book the sites. I expect to take around 5 mins per site on average. Can't see any madness in that. Seems very civilised to me
