I have just read a review on a cc site in the West Midlands where the wardens have put up a" name& shame"board,as they are having trouble with speeding .I know this as I have recently returned from said site. The poster of the review has put that they think it's,and I quote "a bit pathetic" .That to me is an insult to the wardens,as they are at least attempting a positive reaction to an ongoing problem .Any views on this? .Rant over .

If you take part in a sport you accept that the referee's decision  is final, even though, on occasion you may not agree with it. In the same way I am happy for the warden to referee speed on their site, and they should be given our full support in this endeavour. When we arrived at our current site we were advised at check in of the speed limit, walking pace. So far I have seen more doing a jog, than the number doing the correct speed.

Club sites obviously need more speed bumps, average speed cameras, and a system of fines and penalty points for offenders. I shall continue to go elsewhere where there are not such dangerous people on site. Club sites sound far too risky for me. Smile

Wow , when I started this thread I wasn't expecting such a response, but it's good to see such a lively discussion on a serious subject . Thank you one and all.

Whilst it's good to see wardens doing something about speeding I can't understand why they don't just walk up to the offender and have a word in their ear to the effect that they'll be asked to leave site next time they're caught speeding. Why go to the trouble of keeping a name and shame board? You're assuming the miscreant will be shamed. They may not give a damn.

It may be they do speak to the offenders first or they cannot as they disappear in a cloud of smoke. At least it is an attempt but to me the removal of the barrier key would be the most effective.

I agree.

They must see these speeding drivers to get their registration. So why not just flag them down and have a word with them.

It's good that the wardens on this site are at least doing something, but it still smacks slightly of avoiding direct conflict.

They are site managers......they must be seen to manage.

By the sounds of it the Wardens, are managing the site by the Reg Number being "published ",it will also advise those who are more likely to moan about speeding,  but as mostly happens, do nothing, except put a poor review or come on here moaning that wardens "never try to uphold site rules",and it has yet to be established the "method " of why it is published?
