I have just read a review on a cc site in the West Midlands where the wardens have put up a" name& shame"board,as they are having trouble with speeding .I know this as I have recently returned from said site. The poster of the review has put that they think it's,and I quote "a bit pathetic" .That to me is an insult to the wardens,as they are at least attempting a positive reaction to an ongoing problem .Any views on this? .Rant over .

Either. Idiots occur in both.

Right, I think the posts got out of order and my quote of Mark's got lost in cyberspace.

Of course it's true as there are idiots in all walks of life. I've even heard there might be some on CT.Surprised

As I have said before I drive on site at 4mph when anywhere near caravans as the car ticks over in 1st gear at that speed. I don't necessarily believe that in most instances driving at 10mph is genreally unsafe. I do think that driving slowly is far more sociable.

The biggest risk on site is people verses traffic and as wardens we try to get speed limits reduced for obvious reasons. However, the onus is on the members to help us maintain the speed limits by driving carefully. We do have a quiet word with excessive speeders when spotted but like I quoted in a previous post they slow down once the see us. Also, upon arrival at this site, members are asked to stay in 1st gear if a manual or select low gear if an auto while on site. However, after a few days on site the speed creeps up again..

It seems the issue of keeping to 5mph is just a red rag to a bull in some cases. Unfortunately some just see a rule as something to be criticised at best and not observed at worst. As ET says if nothing else it is far more sociable.

The problem seems to be that modern "high speed" life spills over ,with some ,into their leisure time,as our local police safety officer says "i very rarely get caught up in traffic as nobody will pass me when in my duty car arround town"
