An altogether better booking experience

We’re really excited to let you know that inspired by members, following a number of focus groups, feedback from Club Together and member surveys, we are making some improvements to the online booking experience. In the first half of this year we will go live with the new booking experience for overseas sites and crossings. By the end of the year you’ll be able to book UK Club Sites in a fresh new way too.

What improvements are coming?

By the end of the year the new booking experience will enable you to:

  • Search all types of sites via a more user friendly map and location finder.
  • Compare sites by location, facilities and price.
  • Build a holiday itinerary and book multiple UK Club Sites, overseas sites and crossings in one session. You can also save your itinerary and come back to it later.
  • Search, book or amend via mobile, tablet, desktop or the new App. All devices will share a familiar layout and additional functionality will be added to enable overseas sites and crossings to be booked via the app.

We will also be evaluating your feedback with regards to some of the most common subjects discussed by members when making a booking with the Club – block bookings, cancellations and deposits. We are looking at different options to ensure the next steps we take to evolve the site booking experience are in the best interests of the membership as a whole.

Exact launch dates are still to be confirmed - we’ll let you know here, via email, on the website and via social as soon as the new booking experience is ready to try!

Its not remotely similar to arrival at a club site, for a start you forgot to mention having to pay in full for that estimated stay and then go about getting a refund if you decided to leave early.

Could you go back to the office at some point during your stay and request that "hard standing pitch  down by the river for a month next June " (substitute your own options here) . Of course you cant because the CAMC does not do pitch booking.

My post was in response to the oft made claim that pitch booking would be impossible to implement and I  was not alone in pointing out that its widely practiced and at no particular inconvenience to the casual visitor who arrives without notice.

It is remotely similar David as I think you well know. also you are implying that paying up front is a club feature (it is not just the club) but I know of a few sites over there where you have to pay up front as well. The only dissimilar feature is that there are no up front cost to booking with the club, unlike you who pays that booking fee for your site over there. (is a booking or reservation fee I can never remember how you describe it)

Now now David don’t change the criteria of your post you said you turn ip walk around and let them know what pitch you would like, i siad thats the same as the CAMC. Oh and yes you can request that lovely pitch down by the river, as when it is empty you pop  to the office and request a move, so very simple and not at all confusing as some would like everyone to believe. I have just spent the last 2 1/2 months in Spain so I know what happens “over here as well”

Kev, how many of your UK arrivals walk around the site looking for their pitch?...

ill wager hardly any, they all circle round in their car/caravans at the same time, due to the dam that is 'arrival time', and then all go round as fast as possible in search of 'the best pitch'....

nothing like the process we usually see when over here which is as David describes....undecided

You conveniently missed out reference to pitch booking which was the point of my post.

Incidentally if you are finding Spanish sites amazingly similar to CAMC sites (not my experience) them maybe CS might like a "heads up"wink

Posted on 26/02/2019 16:48

And where in my post did I say the sanish sites are the same as the CAMC ill wuote for your reference what I said

sometimes on club sites you walk, sometimes you drive.

as fast as possible as in 5 mph you mean

All I did BB was to point out to David from his post he said he turns up gets told what’s available and he has a wander to choose, I said thats the same as CAMC you turn up wander around ( or drive as you like to think in all club sites all the time)) pick a pitch and let reception know. Im sure there are many differences but I just replied to waht AD siad in his post.
