AGM, 28th October, who's going?

So, this is your opportunity folks, to raise points direct to the board.

There's plenty (in fact there's BUCKET LOADS) of folk, never more willing to complain behind the safety of their keyboard and internet connection, but who's got the guts to stick it to the floor for open debate?

***when the time comes, the room will fall eerily silent and the power people will assume everything is honky doory***

Betcha wink

Why bother. It will be the same old members, nominating and seconding hemselves. A perpetual " club within a club" system.

I'm not able to go but if I'm remembering correctly from last time the club and I fell out, it is possible to appoint the chairman to vote on your behalf but not possible to tell him how you would like him to vote.

I note that there is no choice of candidates for chairman. I don't recall seeing a call go out or is this at a centre level?

So I guess there won't be much change in the way things work.

I'm only a member for insurance and Mayday.  I can't get excited about the club side of things. I still haven't forgiven them for promoting 3 popular sites as potential residential development sites. It's probably better that I don't go

Why bother to make comment about the Club within an online forum such as this, often complaining about its procedures, rules and governing, if you’re not prepared to understand how and why it performs and operates like it does, starting from the top?

Since this forum has been operating, there has been much said and complained about the Club yet, as in my opening post, contributors are not prepared it seems, to raise their heads above the cover afforded by their keyboards and try to actually make a difference.

People spout about how this is ‘their Club’ and how they are not ‘customers’ but are instead, *members* YET, they behave more like a customer and less like a member and then query why something is not to their liking

This is an open forum and we have a right to comment on any subject on here.  You may not like those comments /views but they are mine and as valid as any you may have.

I pay for the privilege of using the CL stock, I don't feel like a member of a club instead I feel like a means to an end i.e. a paying customer to a commercial organisation.

If you feel as though you are a customer of a commercial organisation and you have a grievance, you are perfectly entitled to make a complaint should the need arise, be this in an open forum or in a letter to the ‘management’

To then go ahead and express how this ‘commercial organisation’ could change to do things better, makes you more of a member than a customer.

In the past I have complained about the service I have received from Amazon, but wouldn’t even start to try and advise them how they can improve their internal operations to serve me better.

That's the way it is with the CMC. Why not !!

If it's OK for the rally centre AGM's, and the Rally regional committee AGM's. Why should it not be OK for the full  Retail Company's AGM.

winklaughing

Nigel, you also need to look at the oppositions mag again, there is a big fat hairy spider on page 25....wink

Thanks for bringing the AGM up as a topic though, I see the club are hoping members will fill in the surveys about sites, but the take up looks quite low at 30%. Maybe they need to up the rewards a little, has anyone ever received anything from the prize draw for filling in the 73,000 surveys? That's a lot of form filling by the 30%!

Having done this sort of stuff for a living in a previous life, I can tell you that a 30% response rate is very good.

Strangely enough, rewards don't actually enhance the response rate.

I'll give it a miss, I'm happy with the CC and all decisions taken by the committee. What I want out of it I get, so you go and moan.
