AGM, 28th October, who's going?

So, this is your opportunity folks, to raise points direct to the board.

There's plenty (in fact there's BUCKET LOADS) of folk, never more willing to complain behind the safety of their keyboard and internet connection, but who's got the guts to stick it to the floor for open debate?

***when the time comes, the room will fall eerily silent and the power people will assume everything is honky doory***

Betcha wink

I like wildlife too, but this club do feature an awful lot of it in the monthly rag.

I'll be at the AGM, you know what killed the cat as someone once wrote.

I tend to agree with Nigel, the AGM is an opportunity which is underused as a means to get members views across. At least its now held in the Midlands which is a bit more central. I think that if a lot more members attended and asked reasonable questions things could start to change in the way the Club conducted itself.  I have often thought about going but have never quite got round to it. It would be good to get an answer on why the Club find the current situation with Club Together acceptable?

I seem to recall that any points of business have to be submitted by a certain date, which I've not done. But i'm still going along because I want to gauge if the Club and its Board are in sync with its Membership, or, as I suspect, are not on the same page.

I have a plan to try and get a few words with a couple of people, let them know my thoughts if the opportunity arises, but not going to divulge any more than this prior to the 28th.

If it's anything like my classic car club then your suspicions will be proven correct.

If you speak to the "chairman" as we did at the Feb show, then anything that is not great with the club cannot be mentioned as he made his excuses and moved onundecided

“You said, we did”

We’ll see wink

A couple of things that do need bringing up and if anyone has their own thoughts on how, if anything, could improve the image of the Club going forward are..

The average age of the Board members.

The lack of women on the Board.

Until these small points are corrected and brought into THIS century, then I’m afraid this Club will never shake off the image it portrays to the public. Golf Club mentality, so outdated.

Good luck with your plans Nigel, it's worth attempting. The club do sometimes appeal for new blood on the board. Whether this produces results is so far an unknown factor.

On the basis that the club say they monitor CT surely they will already know the views of the minority of the membership who post on here.

Just don't feel I need to interrupt my caravaning holiday to attend

I wonder if we will get the actual total cost of the rebrand or will it be just some spurious vague approximation lost within other 'expenditure'?

Read the report.

2017 accounts, so if it is going to be reported, it’ll be in the 2017 report which will be presented prior to the 2018 AGM

Of course, it’ll be a distant memory come the time
