We are delighted to announce that our ‘Caravanner of the Year’ competition was filmed by the BBC and will be on BBC2 on 20 and 27 April!

We hope it gets you in the mood for getting out there and enjoying the summer season on our wonderful sites network.

The enthusiasts were faced with a variety of challenges covering activities such as manoeuvring, navigation, hospitality and caravanning knowledge.  There was also the precision challenge of the Concours D’Elegance which demanded much polishing and primping of their vehicles!

The first programme will introduce the entrants and whittle them down to the three finalists.

Tune in and watch, and don’t forget to tell your friends and family about it too!

The club must have seen this program pre broadcast, what planet are they on.

I thought it was laughable from start to finish and has caused some serious damage to the caravan and motor home community.

cannot wait to see they winning performance(not)

The programme was totally boring and underwhelming.  It only confirms in the public's eyes that the CC is full of doddery old weirdos.

The female judge trying to look like Dorothy in the Wizard of OZ  was equally bizarre.

In all a waste of programme time and has set the publics impression of caravanners back by about 30 years.

Mind you rally center committee members will think it was great as it would be very familiar to them.

I am so embarassed that my neighbours may have watched this program

I would sell my caravan on ebay if the price hadnt plummetted after this show.

Having watched the Chairman of the Caravan CIub I now understand why we have so many petty rules.

heres another rule - towing of caravans up steep hills is not only dangerous its just effing stupid do you think they'll add that to the book?

I've spent the last God knows how many years trying to convince my non caravanning friends of the amazing world of caravanning.  Well now I'm going to have spend the next God knows how many years telling them I'm not a complete baffoon, thats if they ever stop laughing to listen.

What an embarrasing and patronising program, thanks Caravan Club.

Mr Chairman, Do you remember Gerald Ratner. I suggest you have damaged this Club even more than he damaged his Company. You MUST step down now. Do not make your next mistake in trying to justify this farce!

Bernie
