We are delighted to announce that our ‘Caravanner of the Year’ competition was filmed by the BBC and will be on BBC2 on 20 and 27 April!

We hope it gets you in the mood for getting out there and enjoying the summer season on our wonderful sites network.

The enthusiasts were faced with a variety of challenges covering activities such as manoeuvring, navigation, hospitality and caravanning knowledge.  There was also the precision challenge of the Concours D’Elegance which demanded much polishing and primping of their vehicles!

The first programme will introduce the entrants and whittle them down to the three finalists.

Tune in and watch, and don’t forget to tell your friends and family about it too!

I'm totally embarrassed by this programme.

It's on BBC2 - and the national audience are being given the impression these are the best six "finalists" the Caravan Club could come up with. Which is rubbish.

It's just confirming and reinforcing the prejudices against caravans that the likes of Clarkson have stoked and encouraged amongst "thirty-somethings" in their BMW & Audi "Ferraris" - and it will just lead to more road rage and aggression against our members when the Clarkson clones hit the road.

 Dearie me.

Whoever in the CC sanctioned this pile of rubbish should do the decent thing and resign. This programme does not reflect the type of people generally seen on caravan sites nor does it accurately reflect life as a caravanner on site. Then seeing the chairman taking the back off the caravan in attempting to tow up a hill, that no caravanner would attempt without someone on the outside checking, and then pontificating as a judge is just hypocritical. Please pull the second programme because this one has done the average caravanner a great disservice. The CC should be offering an apology to all its members.

Well said.

Ah, Wotser. Nice to see you. Are you going to 'sigh'?

As for the program, I watched it against my better judgement and if gives me no pleasure to say it exceeded my worst expectations.

Mr Chairman, you should be ashamed of yourself for allowing the Club to be shown in such a light. I hereby call for your resignation forthwith.

I cannot believe the CC have been manoeuvred by the producers to deliver this mockery / joke onto national television. Himself and I have spent an hour between consternation and shouting at the televisision. How on earth did this group end up as the top  six???? It does not show the CC in a good light And will end up doing more damage than good.
