Thank you Red Pennant!

This story happened on: 17/06/2014

We have been in the South of France at Perpignan for some time!  We decided that Andorra was worth  a visit!  As we climbed towards Andorra the Freelander2 started to overheat!  Cutting our losses we turned for home, and all returned to normal!  However as we have a long tow home in a few days time I rang Red Penant.  The lovely Sally soon sorted a garage for us to get checked out at.  We turned up there at the due time!  He took one look, and aided by translation from Sally, directed us to another garage some 400 yds away. This turned out to be Land Rover Perpignan.  Workshop manager spoke some Englisg so the problem was explained. We were asked to come back at 2.00pm.  Duly did this and the Freelander2 was Hooke up to the computer. Faulty fan module diagnosed, so a new one fitted and we were on our way.  A tad expensive, but Red Pennant pick up the labour part of the bill.  Having an extra couple of days here to make sure all is ok before heading for home.

Ten out of ten to Red Pennant, especially Sally and the other lady who helped with translation.

Paul

I can only say the same for Red Pennant never go Touring abroad without them. I recently went to Spain and had 2 blow outs on my Twin axle 'van changed 1 tyre myself then suffered the same about 2hrs later without their help I don't think I could have carried on. 2 of the most usless Recovery Agents I have ever had the 'Pleasure' of meeting they even asked me to tow my caravan to their garage-about 10miles on 3 wheels! Did get 2 new tyres eventually and made El Delphin Verde our favourite Foreign campsite and enjoyed our holiday

Left home on Sunday 20th Sept 2015 and we were on the A26 north of Reims when the car (Honda CRV) just died and all the lights on the dashboard lit up like a bad Xmas tree. Couldn't re-start the engine so called Red Pennant. They advised that we had to be recovered by the motorway authorities and I would have to call them from an emergency box but once we were off the motorway then Red Pennant could take over. We were taken off the motorway by a low loader and taken to a Renault garage where we contacted Red Pennant and they confirmed with the garage that all towing charges would be covered. Garage gave us water and a hook-up and we stayed the night on the forecourt although Red Pennant offered us a hotel if we wanted it. Next morning the car was taken to a Honda dealer in Reims and Red Pennant kept us informed about the progress. They again offered a hotel and a hire car but we didn't need either so they arranged for the caravan to be towed to a site. Next day the car was repaired (fuel pump had failed), we took a taxi to the Honda dealer and were back on the road again. Cannot fault the Red Pennant service. It might be expensive but if anything goes wrong you are in good hands.

I feel I have to thank the caravan club for their fantastic help when I have just had to cancel our overseas holiday due to illness. They refunded all monies paid minus the £75 deposit and said if we didnt wish to claim this back from red pennant we would also get back our premium as it was unused. THANKYOU VERY MUCH CARAVAN CLUB  I am sure other european holiday / breakdown insurances would not do this.

Stupidly fed my diesel car petrol and was stuck in Sable sur Sarthe mid Saturday afternoon. Called Red Pennant and was rung back within 20 mins. Man on way, hang on. Towtruck arrived, hitched van onto back, car on truck and set off for Laval. Arrived 5.30 pm, petrol pumped out, new filter fitted and on our way for £20 for filter + tip!! Great service and very reassuring to know that someone is helping you!!!

I endorse this, In France near Nantes, our 7 year old Skoda wouldn't start. this being the 2nd occasion, we had a jump start on Brittany ferries. We had had the vehicle (holiday checked) before departure Honest.  Contacted Red Pennant who without quibble arranged for a new battery to be delivered and fitted onsite. Would never venture abroad without Red Pennant sharing the journey with us.

Hello PR1 and all others who have taken the time to give such fantastic praise.

I always enjoy reading the letters in the magazine about how good Red Pennant is.

As some of you have said, you do not know how good the cover is, until you need it.

I am pleased to hear that you all got to where you needed to be and arrived safely.
