GREAT CHATEAU SITE - WORTH A STAY..!

Stayed here for 3 nights en route back from the Dordogne as we wanted to explore the area around Le Mans. The site is well run and the French family who own and run the site are very approachable and genuinely want you to enjoy the site. There was a visiting baker and the restaurant was okay (just busy around 7pm and quieter after 8.30pm). The pitches are separated by a plant - usually a hydrangea and are large. The electricity is 10amp but some of the electric posts would require 2 x power leads to reach the pitches (don't forget your 2 pin euro adapter). It was Bastille day whilst at the site and they did a great bring your own food and drink to the BBQ's which were provided at the front of the chateau. This was followed by a walk with lampions (lanterns) into the local village - followed by some great fireworks - all for free as usual! Oh - nearly forgot - the music in the toilet blocks was amusing, but the toilets and showers were very good quality and cleaned frequently. Be careful when walking near the rare hoopoe bird nest though! So far as the local area goes - Le Mans is worth a half day visit to see the old city but there's not a lot else in the area. Enjoyed the site and the relaxed atmosphere which is generated by the owners - let the owners tell you about the history of the chateau (they probably won't need inviting to tell you!)...
