Good site. Cleanliness of toilet facilities not the best seen.
Ideal site for Killarnie and touring the Ring of Kerry etc.
Ideal bus service to tour the local area.
July 16
Our 8 night visit at FWB came at the same time as some rainy weather. However, the site was very well kept and facilities were always clean. We have a caravan / awning and whilst there are some hard standings, the majority appeared to be well kept grass pitches. There was an indoor eating area for those who were camping and a games / TV room. Organised trips can be booked from the site and we would particularly recommend the Gap of Dunloe using the bus / boat / bus at the far end with a great 5 mile or so walk in between. The Ring of Kerry and Muckross House and Gardens are a must in this area and Killarney itself is a bustling little town with plenty of eating places.
All in, I'd be happy to return to FWB.
Great site close to Killarney
This is quite a large site split into areas. It's flat and very well maintained. As well as the usual facilities there is a TV and games room as well as a dining area for campers to use. Free WiFi is provided and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It's location makes it easy to explore the local area. We would recommend this site to anyone and would definitely use it again.
really handy for Killarney
Well laid out site with excellent spacing between hard standings. Electricity on pitch and water nearby. Toilets very clean, with paper and soap, showers cost 1euro. Several lounges with microwave and toaster plus a TV lounge. Super views, surrounded by trees and hills to the south. Free Wi-Fi but quite poor TV reception. There is a train line nearby (in the trees) but not many trains and certainly not a disturbance. Staff really friendly and helpful and they keep some staples in the shop. Only slight negative is the grey water disposal, a small, circular hole outside reception that takes some manoeuvring to use and can be a queue at peak leaving times.
Really handy for Killarney. Quite a walk to the town but there is a shuttle bus (2 euro p.p. single) and a taxi costs 10 euro each way. However, going in for the day and again for the evening = 40euro. Just up the road you can hire a car for 30euro a day! 10 minute walk to large Supervalu.
nice site close to Killarney but far enough away so you don't get caught in the tourist traffic
Nice site, plenty of room with good clean facilities and friendly helpful owner. It's about 1.5 miles from town and there are several ways to avoid tourist traffic which on some days when there is an event can be heavy, but most evenings it's easy to get in to enjoy music and food in he many god pubs. The National Park, Ring of Kerry and Dingle peninsular are all nearby and make great days out
Trip to Killarney
We took our caravan to this site in the middle of June. This was a nice site, with very friendly and helpful staff, ample and clean washroom and toilet facilities and flat and reasonably spaced out pitches. It's located on the outskirts of Killarney so it's a good walk into town. Better to go by car or bicycle.
Killarney itself is vibrant and there is plenty to see and do both within the city and in the surrounding area. Nearby Muckross House is well worth a visit. Other attractions in the area include the Gap of Dunloe, Carrintoohil (highest mountain in Ireland), Ring of Kerry and The Dingle. The scenery in the area is stunning!
Two other comments are that you can't rely on the weather and that the area is very definitely geared up for tourism. We were amazed at the sheer number of hotels and B&Bs in Killarney and the surrounding area. It was also noticeable how clean and tidy everywhere was!
Friendly welcome
This is a good site about 1.5 miles from the centre of Killarney. Its convenient for supermarket, fuel, pharmacy etc. Its easy to find but care is needed as the entrance is immediately after a bridge - do not overshoot. Its well located for driving the ring of Kerry, Dingle and the Killarney Lakes. Cycling from the site is not recommended; better to drive to Ross Castle or Muckross House for off-road cycling. Site manager is very helpful.
Excellent base for touring the area
Excellent base for touring, many local attractions and town centre are easily accessible on Bikes. Would certainly consider visiting the site again and hiring a car so as to leave the Motorhome parked up whilst we did the Ring of Kerry

Killarney Site
A superb site with a friendly welcome and helpful advice. Clean with good facilities. Only downside is that there is no local bus service to town so you need to use taxi's, which is expensive. Gap of Dunloe and Ross Castle are good, as is Killarney town with a wide range of cafes and restaurants. Would visit again.

A really lovely site and very helpful and lovely owners. We visited in May 2016 and the pitches were dry and some hard standing and fully serviced. Slightly noisy as the railway line runs alongside but not overpowering. Easy walk to pub and restaurant and if you feel energetic you can walk to Killarney town or grab a bus. The town is very picturesque and has good shops cafes and bars as well as horse and carriages. The Dingle peninsula and the Ring of Kerry are really worth doing as is a visit to Gap of Dunloe, Ross Castle and Lakes and Torc waterfall. We had 4weeks visiting Ireland and this site is the only one we would go back to.
